well it's been a long christmas but ive managed to sneak in a few days here and there. Wiring is almost finished with everything plumbed in apart from the vacuum guage.
Finally replaced the runners on the passenger side window so got that finally bolted down and in place. Finished closing the air intakes in the arches.

After many hours of cold hands, blasphamy and coffee realised that the ticking from my starter was actually the solenoid and after checking every wire and cable in the car realised that the battery is SNAFU.
Back to work tomorrow so will try to get pictures on my split as well as a peugeot diesel battery if possible.

Spent many hours the other day taking out my quickshift as it was too long so gear selection was difficult with reverse being impossible so the origional was stripped, painted and put back in place for now until i can raise the coughers for a genuine KAD one

well i can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel! unfortunately the tunnel is my garage with the door open but the mini is up on the ramps and going nowhere.
Anyways its been quite a while but ive got the mini bug back again. Been a long day in the garage with lots done so i shall begin.
Got up early and made a list of things left to do. then thought im missing something here....
That would be the whole rear suspension and braking setup then!! Doh.....

Wheels off, brakes off and stripped to components, all cleaned and then reassembled with new cylinders and a lick of paint.
hubs off ready for longer studs to accomodate new minifins except hubs already have longer studs fitted! good times.
shockers out, pain in the bum as i had mounted and secured the fuel tank and fuel system in its final place. checked cleaned and put aside.
radius arms lowered and after much blasphemy, wd40 and blood got the old trumpets, cones and knuckles out.
stripped apart , checked and reassembled with new hi-lo's.
car jacked up higher with removal of flexi brake pipes ready for braided versions tomorrow.
Whole of rear subframe attacked with wire brush drill attachment until dirt, grime and dodgy underseal free.
Subframe and radius arms then prepared and then coated in a layer of hammerite. umm shiny.
preparing rest of bottom of car for underseal in the morning followed by suspension rebuild in the evening.

I shall post tomorrow evening with the pictures of the weekends work.
Feels good to get the project on the final straight!!
