I also have a 306 TD battery, the normal mini one was rubbis as the car was only started every few weeks and i'd have to jump it. 306 one only needed an initial charge and has been fine since (fitted abut a year ago) and it's a nice snug fit in the battery box

Not sure which battery I've got, but it was a number 75. Think it was about £70 from Halfords, with a 3 year guarantee and about 2 times the cranking power of a normal mini battery.

The part numbers for a pug 306 td battery is 027 or 075 depending on what year it is so either should suffice, i've fitted an 096 battery and this is a bit bigger than a pug battery and fits very snugly in the standard box.

I upgraded my battery some time ago and have been very pleased with the results. See my earlier note on the subject:

Battery upgrade

Cheers,

Bugger wish I had seen this topic earlier. went halfrauds before christmas with hanna and got her mini (fredie) a new battery. we bought a metro one. think it was for a diesel metro...?

it cost about £63. now I think the pug one would have been the way to go.

980 cranking amp thats insane im sure a land rover battery isnt that high. One question though if it should my some chance run down to almost empty would it kill your minis alternator trying to charge it again?
