The trusty Haynes Manual by, well, Haynes. <--contains some useful information, great for home-servicing and repairs,

Especially if you're a beginner or novice looking to service and maintain you're Mini, because it taught me loads and together with the Mini Haynes manual I was also able to effectively set the valve clearances (tappets) on my Mini. Thanks to it's clearly written text and dozens of clearly illustrated pictures, It just makes things appear easy and in most cases they are.

I was very tempted to buy a second as a spare, but I don't think the misses would be too happy and it says up to 1995 (which really stands for the fact that was when it was first published), but a lot of what's written relates to all Mini models.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this link before.....

But for all you mpi and spi owners out there (and all other classic mini owners as lets face it, the basic mini doesn't differ by much) the following link takes you to a .pdf workshop manual for the classic mini.

This manual has proved extremely useful for myself as i have recently reinstalled my engine, and this manual gives you all the torque and technical data that you will ever need.

um depends what you are after!

the tuning the a-series is just about the engines - tells you modifications (but doesnt go anywhere into detail about good engine building)

the how to modify your mini, covers other areas of the car (but not engines in great detail)

both are really old now, and things have moved on a lot, but both are a worthwhile read..
