i was wondering if any one could give me advise on oil coolers,
i have recently rebuilt my 1275 engine after severe bearing failure,
it is now a 1330 balanced and lightened with a coopers head ported and polished and skimed,a 276cam with 1.5 rockers and twin 1 1/2 su's.
i also have a metro radiator fitted instead of the usual mini one,
with these type of mods would it be a good idea to fit an oil cooler aswell and if so what size would be best?
can anyone help?

oil cooler yes or no?

I intend to fit one on mine , I used to Grasstrack race a mini and all the guys that had been doing it a lot longer than me swore by them , helps with the cooling and stops the oil from going too thin , as far as I can see there are benifits and no drawbacks , If you get one , let me know how it goes , fitting e.t.c.

Get one!!!
I used an MG metro item, was about 8" x 6" x 2" in size and worked a treat. If you get a metro one from the scrappy then it should have all the right hoses on it, so you can jus bolt is straight on. If you get a brand new one, your gonna pay lots for it and the hoses.
I went to the scrappy and had a look around at all different types from various cars and chose one that would fit in the space i chose in the engine bay.
If you do fit one, make sure it has some kind of protection from any debris that might get kicked up by outher cars, if it gets a small hole in it, you can say bye bye to your new engine...

Look thru the Yellow Pages and ring one of those part finder companies, I've used em loads and they are good, you should be able to get one that way.
Fit it behind the front valance, there are the holes there that it will sit behind nicely...
