How do the door locks come out? I've unscrewed the handles, but the lock barrels don't seem to fit out of the holes in the door skin?

Also, the door catches, no idea how to remove that mechanism at all? Are these things that don't come out without being broken?

Windscreen wipers? Do they just pull off the spindles, or do the motors need unbolting?

Cheers!

From the inside ( door panel off ) you can just release the lock lever which attaches to the door latch. it's a press fit type connection so should not break. Once that is removed the handle can be witdrawn, rotating it down wards to remove the bottom arm aswell..

With the wipers they just pull off, but you need to push them back square before you can do this ( or use a presuading device - screwdriver ) to act as a lever from the bottom, they have a spring friction clip in them.

Althoguth guessworks beat me, i'll say anyway :shifty:

Inside the door theres a metal hook, if you look through the openings you can see it, where it hooks into the locking mechanism! push it out from the locking mechanism (its just pushed rather than hooked) and then as GW said, tilt the handle from the outer of the door downwards and it should come out with the hook attached.

As for the mechanism, unscrew the dor lock and the door handle mechanism and slide the whole unit forward (away from the door) and you'll see where the metal bars meet the unit, there is a 'spindle' with a spring washer (i think its called that) which is 2/3rds of one, remove them and the spindle should slide out of the mechanism (watch the washers as they may ping off (very annoying!)) and then the mechanism should be free to come away (so long as the 3 big screws have been removed) and the lock and door opener bar thing should just slide back out the opposite way to how you just pushed them (if that makes sense!)

Be patient, once you see how it works its really really simple :genius:

I just did a Google to ask this very question and this was the first result.

New car, new doors, doesn't look like I learned anything last time!
