I have a standard ish 998
I just have purchased a 295 head and getting a new carb soon
Just wondered how much would the costs be approx to get it up to a basic 80bhp spec like yours?
And whether it would be okay to run on my engine as it has done 60,000 miles?
Thanks

It cost me about £1k with the mirage manifold, It'd be hard to do it for less.
Manifold £350
Turbo £150 minimum
Carb plenum etc £100 minimum
Megasquirt/jolt £150-200
Head £200 (including recon)
You can se how it quite quickly adds up, And I havent included a fuel pump and regulator or an intercooler an piping for it, plus al lthe little bits like fuel pipe, filters andunions, oh and an exhaust!
I had lots of 'spare' bits in my garage when I did mine so the cost was kept low.

I think want to go for a 998 turbo for something different but may save up a bit more and do a bigger build of it
Say add another few hundred and get new piston and rebore and a cam so can turn the boost up a bit more lool

100bhp would be nice

would i be able to use a hif44 carb with this setup or does it have to be a 38???
Seriously, please. I don't mean to be rude, but just read the thread through.
ALL the answers you need have already been given. the last 2 pages of this thread have just been a waste of space with people asking Will pointless questions that he's already answered in this very thread.

There are lits of different types. You ideally nee one with a compressor A/R of 0.48 and a turbine A/R of 0.35. You also need one with a 4-hole flange to make fitment simpler.
