I've driven kit cars exclusively now for about 28 years. prior to that I had a real Mini 1000.
I've had a variety of kits but the Mini has been the donor car for most of them.
The white Mini Marcos was bought for racing. It started off as a standard MkIII but I gradually modified it to 1330 cc full race, eventually making my own front end, side skirts, arches and spoiler.

It turned out so well that when I finally sold it Marcos Heritage bought it and used it as a basis and demonstrator for their Mk VI GT.

Eventually I took the racer off the road so I bought a second Mini Marcos for road use. This was a D&H Fibreglass Mk IV version with a 1275 engine.

I converted it to 12" wheels which is why I had to modify the arches slightly.
I replaced the Marcoses with the Hustler Force 4. This was a very late model as it had full opening doors rather than the earlier sliding windows. I am told only 4 were made before William Towns died.

After about 10 years I started the GTM. I bought it from Ian Sandwith of Green & White Mini Spares here in the North East. Some of you may know him. He broke his neck in a Rallycross accident in Ireland and was unable to get into the car anymore so I eventually bought it from him. I replaced the steel chassis with an exact copy in fibreglass.

The suspension is all my own design using pushrods and rocker arms front and rear.

I also made my own tubular replacement subframes.

The engine has MG Metro valve sizes in a ported head, a 266 cam, 1.5 : 1 roller tip rockers, a belt cam drive and an MG metro carb and manifold.

The exterior is pretty much standard apart from the front spoiler and wheelarch extensions.

I'm hoping to replace the carburettor by a Megasquirt controlled fuel injection so any pointers will be gratefully recieved.
