just a couple of my Mini Red Hot. Only a 17 year old so I have hardly any money but focusing on interior and giving it a good clean up! 

Any comments would be great guys!

My Little Project

 

 

I bought the car in June 2013.  It has been standing for 6 years prior.

 

So yes, I have decided to start with the restoration.  It is taking time but yes I am sure it will be worth while.

 

Being from South Africa, parts are not that easy to come by, but nothing to fear.  One can make a plan.

 

I am so curios to see the final product, but yes patience will be my first priority at this point in time.

Not a bad starting point. I see you've got the 11 stud GTS head on your motor.

Is it a bad or good thing?  To be honest this is the first Mini I've owned.  Done other cars before this.

11 stud is the cooper S engine if im not mistaken which is very good indeed :)

In South Africa it comes off of our GTS motor which has the larger valves like the Cooper "S". Essentially it's an "S" in a clubby but with a stronger crank as well as the specific to South African block with the oil filter mounted at the upper left side of the block as opposed to the lower middle.

Wow... I actually managed to upload something haha.. probably a bad idea including my reg? ah well... So heres my little Sprite.. now out of Festival mode (sans roofrack)... its my daily hack.. its an auto with a stage 1.  GPS clocks it at 95 fully loaded with people and it seems to have plenty of life in it...

 

only issue is that i get through tyres and brake pads/shoes like they are going out of style and that fitting a one box exhaust was a bit stupid.. its got a stainless back box which sounds a bit rubbish unless its going at full chat.

 

Its been my main car for 4 yrs now.. cant complain really.. does what it should.. jump started a hopped up 4x4 last week and has had sofas and all sorts up on the roof.  I may have to sell it one of these days to make way for another project so if you like her let me know :)
