great work bigchief, love what you did to cure servo placement

Bert, if your worried about speedo, why not use a sat nav for speedo, and some even bong when you reach the speed limit, plus they are usually more accurate than any speedo fitted in any car.
just an idea, hope it helps Andy

is this really as simple as it seems iv been loking to upgrade my a series but the cost is quite high for the power i want but a micra engine is not hard to find at a good price. can i retain my 10" wheels with cooper s brakes?

If after looking at the photos of the modified subframe, engine mounts, cut and shut drive-shafts, and all wiring, you think that you're capable of copying it, then yes it is as easy as it looks! Good luck >_<

hey guys just an update.
a few days ago we started our second CG13 project by first atarting the engine on the floor. this conversion is going to be fuel injected this time and the engine sounds solid as ever!
just listen to the rev range on this engine!!

we also had trouble keeping it upright!!

cant wait to get this engine in.

Amazing! I'd be very interested to hear how easy or hard it is to seperate the ECU and engine wiring from the rest of the loom.

well the wiring took quite a while to separate and figure out. this is due to the fact that the color-codes of the available pinouts and schematics are completely different from our harness. our engines are japanese spec'd plus finding an ecu is really difficult. we used an ecu jack from a nissan pulsar and plucked out extra wires (knock sensor etc) and transplanted the relevant pins according to the diagram. all wires soldered are different in color and the same holds true for the CG10 as well. after shredding out the 'car' side of the harness (AC circiut, defogger, daytime lighting, dash lights, ABS and CVT) we were left with only a few wires for IGN, BATT, fuel pump and GND as well as starting signal and neutral switch etc. heres a photo of the joined harness:

Hi, I can get a hold of a P reg (1996) micra. 1.3 16v engine. Is there any thread builds other than this one I can look at? I'm unsure if i should do the conversion.due to suspension/steering modifcation, does it all fit inside a standard round nose mini?

As far as I'm aware no one else has a build thread running.

Bigchief also posts on here http://www.16vminicl...opic.php?t=3968

and here http://www.16vminicl...pic.php?t=15415

and here http://www.16vminicl...pic.php?t=15481

suspension and steering remain standard, I hope to give it a go myself at some point.

no suspension or steering mods bro. no cutting of inner wings or or anything like that. u can pop the subby and engine into another mini with ease. booster and air horn were optional!!!!

How much have the engine mounts been changed from standard? I look at one of your threads with the Toyota 4E-FE and noticed that the drivers side mount has been moved from the side of the engine to the front, and the the a lower mount has been moved up to between the towers! I assume you had to make some custom brackets for this.
