Hi Iain,

I understand what you are saying re moving the engine sideways, but more than just the CV being the problem, the gearbox itself also hits off the tower, in fact we have massaged the tower a tad just on the corner .

Perhaps there is scope to move the engine forwards to allow the engine to move side-ways a bit, of course that is difficult to be sure of with me sat here in front of the fire. I think you'll also be better off in front of the fire for a while yet

We've got some lovely sunshine today now, picture post-card winter scenes everywhere :)

Are you putting one in a Marcos too?

I have another 67 Marcos shell, but have no plans for it yet, may sell it.

I'll have to extract a digit and actually get the bits all in one place and start seeing how stuff fits together but yes it looks like it'll have to go over to the right if we want to stick with the bigger box. I don't have any particular reason to want it further to the left I was just wondering. It's more important to me that it's further back to avoid the bulkhead and prevent the exhaust dumping too much heat into the bulkhead and therefore the cabin. Lots of heat wrap on the exhaust and insulation on the bulkhead is the order of the day methinks.

And thank god we have them in ireland too..

we have been lookin at this conversion for the past few months and decided last week to make the move. I am making the first subframe for another club member who wont be stressing it as much as i will so we can see areas that we can improve it.

Was delighted to see someone running the engine on the cbr600 carbs as i am also going to do the same. Hope to post some photos soon, but if i m not bac posting i would like to say to everyone who has contributed to this topic, very well done and congrats on such an informative and conprehensive build tread.

Hi whyter.
Thought you might like an update on my Honda carbs. They are running a bit rough but hope to sort that out on a rolling road when time and funds allow.
Re-wiring the whole car at the moment but can at last can see light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck on your built. PS the squealing noise on the video is the drive belt needing tightened and the sound does not do the carbs justice. They sound like twin webers.

Sounds good.

I have a Honda Carbed engine myself, it's in a K10, it was the drive in it that Whyter took that convinced him that the Nissan conversion was the way to go.

Nice inlet manifold that might clear the bulkhead? I've no details yet, could be a one-off

It's a one off. Here's a thread about it. clicky

I was thinking you could chop the manifold then use the parts that bolt into the block. Then go to the scrappies or hop on ebay and get a a nice manifold around the right size and join the two parts with silicone tubing. Maybe it'd come with a nice big throttle body too.

I'm not really sure if this would work and if it's practical, it's just a thought. I wait for someone smarter than me to tell me.
