does the intake fit?,
the rear mount needs to be VERY stout or it'll twist.
that gbox is alot bigger for sure!
whats left of the right side of the subframe now?

Looking at your latest cg13 install my engine may be a little too far over to the right of the car due to the larger box. Its also really tight on the left cv because it looks like the whole lump has to move forward to clear the steering rack due to the larger box. On one pic the engine looks twisted in the frame but its not, camera trickery!
There is no chance of the manifold clearing and im not cutting the car so will fab up a custom one when its in so i can take proper measurements.

I still have the standard air-box, I'm happy to do without for the significant gain it gives. I've never had mesh on any other engine before and never had a problem, for sure that little wire on the MAF needs looking after.

do you think im going to have trouble because it is so new ?wow, that engine sure is different! its got coilpacks, crank angle sensor on bell housing, knock sensor, different throttlebody, top feed injectors. jap-spec blacktop CG's are alot simpler but glad 2 c u started! good going
i hope not. its a 51 plate engine only done 8500 miles

not at all, the newer the better right? just make an effort to research the differences, advantages and technology of this newer engine. as far as i know you can always retrofit the ignition, ecu and fuel system from the 'distributed' version of this engine if things get too hairy!! good luck and carry on!!!!
just some shots from the install, we sized down some rover K-series headers to fit by cutting off the flanges and first bolting them to the head:
we ended up with this:
the pipes are then adjusted for fit and tacked in position before removing. after preliminary welding:
this is how well they fit the block:
note that these headers are not equal length so the pipes containing cylinders 2 and 3 come together a longer way down below the engine to make up for it . we removed the bulky rover flange too, they sound really great when the throttle is> half open, otherwise the car is really quiet!!

Bigchief
How much bigger is our UK gearbox compared to bigchiefs? it is really difficult to tell from the photos. I'm told our pre98 1.0L models have the smaller box, driveshafts and CV joints, guessing this could well be the small type you have over in Trinidad.

My gearbox is 13" wide from bellhousing face to the edge of the casting , 18.5" front of bellhousing to back of the diff and has 3" diameter output pots so how does that compare guys?

hi mate you say you have a large gear box, what year is yours. i have a 51 plate and im having problems gettingIf i move the whole thing over 2" then it would either catch the cv on the frame which is solved by moving the engine back but then it would hit the steering rack

mine in subframe, ive cut it,put supports in to keep it square, now i have to cut the top cross brace off again(between turrets) because inlet wont fit, because gearbox needs to go lower just to line up drive shafts, not much left of subframe now .

As for the inlet im gonna make my own as the standard one is huge, tried offering mine up and as you say it gets in the way a little!
I dare say the R5 box will fit though so im not giving up yet however i do keep trawling ebay for cube boxes! and the local breakers always seems to have a few micras in so

Edit I can see the quite hefty bulkhead mods now, but they are from the previous conversion I believe.
