brilliant conversion, tho i have to admit i dont like the servo mount point, have you considered ditching it for unasisted setup? i m going to do this conversion soon, i had a micra before a mini and loved the engine, do you reckon you could fit a front mounted mpi radiator to this conversion?
well......... what's not to like about the servo mount point? it's completely out of the way of any thing [kinda tucked in the corner] and allows engine removal without even touching it! as far as the rad is concerned, we live in the tropics of the caribbean and i've found that the mini 3-core rad overcools in its original position, just going above normal when thrashed but cools right back down. mounting the mpi rad competes with the exhaust mani for space but i'm sure it can be done.

im really trhinking of doing this conversion, but there are things which worry me like whether a front mounted rad will fit and how far offset the driveshafts will be from the middle, it looks like they are going to be very close to the passengers side, does this cause a problem with torque steer? is it possible to get an engnine in with the cvs in the middle?
i dont want to sound negative, its awesome, definately my favorite engnine converison, i wanted the engnine out of my old micra in my car years ago but i didnt think it was possible, great work!

yes it has got nats, i have a mate who is an auto electrician to help me and hope he can sort problem outare you sure u've got nats? if so that's ALOT of extra trouble for no reason since no-nats wiring is very simple on the cg series of nissan engines. using the transponder ring etc is just another thing to go wrong on a motorway IMO. try to find out if u've got nats.
( just a quick question) as i have the complete car do you think it is possible to put the power steering rack
on the mini and convert it ANY ONE TRYED THIS.?
and what about the complete dash(with some trimming of course)

Dash would be a bit bulky too, however you really need the pod to match the electronic speedo, although it will read a bit fast on smaller wheels needed for a mini.

and yes torque steer doesnt seem to be to do entirely with drive shat length, its odd that theres an equal lenght drive shaft conversion "to reduce torque steer" for the mini.
oh and how is the cluch operated on these conversions? i dont see a master so it must be cable?

As a side note, have a look What Causes Torque Steer Thread on TMF. While I personally don't agree that this is the sole cause of torque steer, it does go a long way to explain what contributes to it ... and if this article is correct, then why does the torque steer always happen in one direction (left or right) no matter what road surface/level you are on or what tyres are fitted. I guess that's a debate for another thread...and yes torque steer doesnt seem to be to do entirely with drive shat length, its odd that theres an equal lenght drive shaft conversion "to reduce torque steer" for the mini.

has anyone tried taking the mesh out, from over the throttle body on the k11 micra manifold?

the mesh comes off easily, i used a sharp pointy knife to coax the circlip out and the mesh just pops right out. theres alot of confusion regarding torque steer but in my experience wheel offset increases the risk of it getting all wild when power is applied. anyone whose gone from 13x7's to steelies in front would know exactly the huge difference offset makes! oh by the way all of the clutches shown in this thread are cable operated, initially we used a 'pull from behind pedal' approach but later moved on to 'pull upward from under pedal' which hides neatly beneath floor upholstery and the cable exits just above the steering rack. u would not believe how SOFT this clutch is!!!! u can easily drive around clutching with your toes only.
