thanks

heres the wiring diagram, its really huge and detailed. of course half of it is un-necessary because of ABS, daytime lights, AC etc.
visit the full diagram here:
http://www.fusion-mo...k11_no-nats.jpg

real big thanks for that.also got micra manual, not 100% sure but looking at the manual, red(thick one)to battery
yellow/black(thick)to battery
green(thick)to battery
white/black(thick)live when starting/ign on/acc position(also ign switch supply)
white/green live when starting/ign on
red(thin)live start only
all earths on engine loom to earth
does this sound some where near.sorry to be a pain.lol.
also whats involved to fit the micra calipers etc
plus any pics on how the clutch pedal is modified and where to go through on the bulkhead.
once again a big thankyou

those colors are COMPLETELY different to mine, except for the fact that all grounds are on the engine!
the micra calipers are fitted by making a plate to hold the calipers to the hubs, i suspect that it is ALOT easier to use original brakes where you are from though.
the clutch pulls on the cable from behind via a simple bracket with a hole in it welded to the pedal box. the cable exits through the hole just above the steering rack on the left firewall which needs to be widened for the cable to pass thru. [sorry no pics of this just yet]

Hi Big Chief

Just been flicking throu this topic and noticed on post number 50 on page 4 that you are using the CG13 engine but is that a carb or thottle body on it? because over here I think they are all injection. If it is a carb what is it off and is it a straight bolt on?

Very tempted to have a go at this but ti keep things simple would prefer a carb to start with.

Cheers Nige

hey nige, all CG engines are fuel injected. our first CG engine was made carbd by making a hybrid manifold by mating the cg13 manifold flange to a nissan MA10 manifold using alu. welding. the ports lined up perfectly but it was still alot of work involved.

the distributor used was from an E15 engine and was shorted and sleeved to fit along with addition of the cg key and mini pinchclip. to be honest nissan EFI is too simple to be feared [i know that now] and the benefits definitely outweigh its complexity!

Thanks for the reply Bigchief still in two minds as to which way to go. Need to get in touch with tubbs1380 as he only lives a few miles away to see how he is getting on.

Thanks again

Yes I too wonder how he's getting on?

a few seem to be underway, but so far only the ones done by Bigchief appear to be finished!

If you're quick Nige you could be the first away from Trinidad to get one done! get them spanners out :D

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! that's a preddy engine.
on a sidenote i've finished my most recent cg13 subframe, one of my customers is removing his flawless MA10 and upgrading to CG so the frame has to be re-worked. heres a pic of his MA coming out....

his new engine is a jap-spec CG13 and we're fitting 4 2 1 headers and 2" free flow exhaust. if he's greedy we may try ga15 injectors and throttlebody. heres a shot of the complete exhaust, think its from a rover k series (not sure) cut down and re-flanged:

The best option would be to use the Micra loom including the transponder ring on the steering column, perhaps adapt the Micra column to fit the mini.

are you sure u've got nats? if so that's ALOT of extra trouble for no reason since no-nats wiring is very simple on the cg series of nissan engines. using the transponder ring etc is just another thing to go wrong on a motorway IMO. try to find out if u've got nats.

well i promised u guys an update, here it is. we've long finished a friend's nissan CG13DE conversion in his mini and today i remembered to take some pics of the install. theres also one of the pulley side of the subframe and its reinforcement. upgrading from the MA10 to the CG13 is just as hard as doing it from scratch we've learnt except for the left mount and the shifter which remains unchanged. the entire right side of the subbie must be re-worked plus the rear mount is dropped about 1 inch lower to accomodate the curvy CG manifold. would you guys believe that this engine intrudes even less into the firewall than the MA10 engine! this means that mods can be even more conservative requiring less welding.

we are really pleased with the quality of this install and the owner was blown away too. the engine is extremely nimble and revs quite freely. the tach just flings around at hits the limiter with ease! the power delivery is VERY different to a mini or even MA engine and with the headers it sounds like a VTEC screamer. i will try to do a video so u guys can hear what i mean exactly. just picture pigeons flying away in all directions and frightened pedestrians fleeing in horror. heheh.......heh.
heres pics of the install :

I have a bog standard 1.3 Micra and I must admit they do sound sweet when you rev them.
