Pete

The hyabusa would also need dry sumping really.....

Chris reckons its ok standard for road and trakday use, i know the monte carlo is drysumped but it pulls more G.... in the corners than ours will!!!!
If you turn them round in a westfield, you deffo have to dry sump them!!!

Cheers

ps hows the laughing gas??? :fear:

He's looking at a possible... tis a good price but not quite the right engine (it's a 2001). :fear:

Why do you know of a possible?

Finally found an engine. 2003 spec with about 5000 miles on it. All for £750 and it's only 20 mins away from where I live so will be picking it up Wednesday. I intend to paint some of the cases on this one to tart it up a bit but hopefully the car will be running again next weekend (although I think I might have an appointment with a certain minus next weekend) so may be the week after.

No I didn't drive Pete's!!!

In fact I'd go as far to say I'm probably a little more mechanically sympathetic than Pete :D

What was that? Milk two sugars? Yeah no probs!

Good news is that after a slight delay the engine is in and running again :D . I've also managed to sell my broken engine to a friend of F1Mini who wants it to mock up a frame for a front engine race car. Hopefully doing a deal with him for a carbon front end as well :dontgetit: .

Bad news is that i've just gone up the road and there is a terrible rattling noise from the back of the engine (gearbox area). Sounds worse when it's stationary idleing. Have just e-mailed the place I got it from to see what they will do about it. Looks like i'll be taking it out again. :( :-

At least the pick up allows the access to change the engine easier!!
You should have it down to under an hour soon for an engine swop???

Cheers

Only joking pete, i shouldnt laugh as i havnt heard my engine running yet but i know where i got it from!!!
