Pete have you seen this.......R1 engine e-bay link Posted ImageThe seller reckons these engines are bomb proof!!!!!!!! :fear:  :fear:
You should send him your pics of your engine????

Everyone has told me they're bomb proof. Obviously not when I get hold of them  . It's depressing to think that I bought mine and Ade's together and ended up giving myself the broken one :nugget:

Chris at z-cars phoned and said he'll try to find me a cheap engine and then have mine back for spares. Hopefully back on the road soon.

Pete

ps. the link don't work

real shame mate, hw fast were you going wen it went bang

Only about 90 but still accelerating. Luckily I heard it going crunch and managed to pull over and push down the clutch before it seized.

Hi Pete

Apparently there is a Bike show/ autojumble at Donington Park this sunday. Might be worth a look.

Just been told about it and thought I'd post it here in case I forget to mention it tomorrow! :nugget:

Found a couple around £1000 mark. Have also found a 2005 R1 with less than 1000 miles on the clock, which if the engine mounts are in the same place then I might be tempted. Just hurts a little when the other one cost £1100 and only did 500 miles.
Thought about hyabusa but it would mean changing some of the frame and adding an oil cooler. If you were willing to part with one cheap then I could be tempted.

Pete

The hyabusa would also need dry sumping really.....
