Well I think rebuilding is optimistic after looking at those!!!!! :nugget:

Perfect time to get a busa turbo lump in there then :cheese:

Just in case the pictures aren't clear, the valve head has snapped off and embedded itself half in the piston. The bit sticking up in the last pic is the valve head. This has slammed into the bottom of the head breaking the spark plug and destroying the head. It's also seized the engine so some bits have gone down the bore as well. :sad: :lol: .

yea i think busa turbo time personally.....but what do i know. will your current frame take one easily or are the busa frames different to the r1 frames??

Is the engine still under warrenty from that guy? I like the sounds of busa turbo though.

Personally I think it'll Brasso out!

No it won't! A busa frame is quite different to the R1 frame. and the busa's are very different in price to the R1 usually about £2000 difference! then there's extra to turbo it on top of that! Unless anyone wants to donate about £7000 Pete's way I don't think thats gonna happen! :thumbsup:

Fingers crossed it can be sorted fairly painlessly :lol:

5 valves per cylinder yes, hows the crown of the piston. Would you get away with a new head.

how many members we got?? a couple of quid from all and it would be sorted!! as long as i got a ride at some point i wouldn't mind a fiver!!

Hmm there's a thought!! We could have a Pete's Pickup fund raiser! :lol:

Try to sort a mini meet and get any members/passers by to donate for the "restoration" of a beautiful 1980 mini pickup :fear: :grin:

oooo so where can i donate towards the cause? i feel its worthy as pete has spent alot of time/effort and money on this project and dosnt deserve anytihng like this happening

unfortunate pete, going to be a straight forward rebuild? are they fairly easy to work on?

I'm putting it down to accelerating along the M6 to get away from Jammy in a BMW :grin: . And then trying to catch up with Ade as he did the same :nugget:
