Hiya

Nope haven't sorted the chain alignment as yet. Been really busy and not had a chance to get it done (and so has Pete  )

I do have a chain lubing system which I'll be fitting soon to help it last a bit longer. :xxx: I'll let you know how it goes when that's sorted am really looking forward to it!! :D

Also I've decided that the brakes need looking at. After do dragwars at the end of the strip i realised how little brake pressue i have on the first pedal. Needs a swift re-application to get a good firm pedal. We're pretty sure there's no air in the system, I've been reliabley informed that the master cylinder isn't capable of moving enough fluid for the calipers I have front and rear. So have ordered parts to remedy this problem......... ;) couple of weeks apparently

Just curious here but why do you want a FWD verison? always wondered what reasons there could be? Personally I'd always have a RWD over FWD just soo much more controllable IMHO of course.

Also if anyone ever manages to do a FWD bike engined mini i don't think it'll have a chain, more likley a bespoke tranfer box type arrangment. So you'd not need to worry about a chain :D

i want fwd as i want the engine in the front not behind me and i like the way the mini handles it was designed to be that way kinda thing (also cant afford to do the z cars setup hoping this will be cheaper) and there are 2 cars out there running and working i dont know how they've done it but they have and they are developing kits to sell (so i've heard) i know one has some kind of chain driven setup

i guess i like the idea of it being really stealth bit shabby looking but pretty fast at the same time

Thats fair enough i suppose. :D

I know of one front engined bike mini with chain drive and that had the engine mounted backwards. From what i can remember it wasn't an ideal set-up at all?? but i could be wrong.

If the front engine conversion uses a transfer box i would wager it's going to cost not much less (if at all) than the z-cars route, as they're very expensive.

its all if's and but's at the moment i have one of the mini dvd's with a guy in a yellow front mounted R1 and it did well and i was very impressed if none of these come about i might stump up for a z cars conversion but it wouldnt leave alot of money for much else haha

top car by the way ade its what got me thinking about all this madness in the first place

Thats fair enough then :D Well good luck if you do decide to do one! They're definatley alot of fun!

But I'm still not convinced Z-cars are that expensive? I mean has anyone looked at the KAD site lately????? The cost of the 16V head conversion is much the same as a z-cars kit!?! I know which I'd prefer.......

Screw you guys I'm going home!!! :P

Right I've re-aligned the chain and re-addressed the clutch (and Pete was nowhere to be seen :P :P :P ) (still needs adjusting as it doesn't totally disengage now but works well enough) took it out for a test run and all is gooooooooooooooood!!!! :D ;) :xxx:

Definatley seems more livley! Going around a roundabout on my usual test route and a quick prod of throttle had the rears squeeling!!!! thats never happened before!! Need to have a couple more runs out to explore the differences but it is definatley much more responsive lower down than before!!! ;)

Just need to totally sort the clutch and brakes and it'll be sweet as!! ;)

Yep, and me :-

LOL sorry Dan. Was nothing against your kit at all! I love the look of it. But just not what i personally would go for ;) (you might find I've just ordered some stuff from KAD so I'm not slating their kit at all!!

I was simply pointing out how quick people are to say how expensive Z-cars are when actually in the grand scheme of things they're not that bad.

No offence intended :D

No offence taken at all!

I think you're spot on to be honest, just a bit of friendly banter.....

Awesome car by the way, well done.
