OK then Jammy. Yes I'm sure you have called me a "git" before. And I didn't have the pleasure of seeing any Korean ladyboys. :dontgetit:

No it's not going back up to z-cars this time. I've found a motorsports place nearby who are more than happy with what needs doing. ;)

And judging by the amount of cuts bruises all over me I did alot more than making the tea!!! Definatley another joint effort. So nurr ;D

I must admit that Ade did in fact get his hands a little bit dirty this time. Can't remember what he did but his hands did get dirty ;) .

Good job he's got a donor pickup with identical running gear to keep borrowing parts from when he breaks his. ;D

what i dont get about Z cars is that if you buy it with your kit its half the price and if you change your mind later on its a diff price ! why.....

£500 if you buy it with your kit,

950 est" if you buy it after ,,,,

bit unfair i say,
to be honest though i prefer having that weight at the front, lol but i shall see when mines finished.

spoonz

When you buy the frame seperate you get new shocks etc and everything to fit it, whereas if you buy it as part of the main frame kit you dont need to have top arm brackets, shock absorber mounts, throttle pedal assembly, crash bar frame etc........ plus the new frame shocks are different and smaller and so probably cheaper aswell. I have already asked this queastion directly to chris and this is how it was explained to me.

OFF TOPIC: Spoonz, did you get the air filter sorted and sort out the sensors etc??

Cheers

ahhh that explains it,. thanks

yeah i kinda got it sorted, will be asking you more questions in future dnt u worry

Well after a long but interesting time at the alignment place the car is finally drivable again! :w00t: ;) ;)

And inital indications are very good!!! Front subby is sooooo much smoother than the old one!! Rides bumps much much better!!!! Nowhere near as twitchy and just generally a happier place to be :)

Anyway had the corner weights done and managed to get F 47% R 53% with me in it. but a perfect 50:50 cross weight! ;)

It had more fuel in it than last time it was weighed but came in at 588kgs (that with tools and fire extinguisher all still in it).

The drive home was briefer than I had planned due to insanely hot day!!!! But still managed to drive it quicker through corners than I have done up til now...... :-

Just need a slightly cooler day to go for a bit of a prolonged run :D

Also the small matter of getting the engine set-up properly and it'll be about done i think!! All i need is the engine to make 176bhp and it'll be in 300bhp/ton territory!! :D But I'll be surpised if it makes that much lol Here's hoping.

Lol it's more me getting a bit warm!!! The water temps were pretty much as normal. Was just very warm in the cab with only two tiny little holes to let air in!!!! :w00t:

I think it would have been warm even without the engine in there but it won't have helped for sure!

Didn't you go for the z cars aircon kit?? Big mistake I think!! :w00t: ;)

Glad to hear the car is handling well, mine is booked in for setup and corner weights on saturday, hoping for around 450Kg total.

What are your ride heights set at?? eg. height to bottom of rear lights/bottom of front subframe?

I got the set-up done at Northampton motorsports. Very nice bunch to be honest and not to bad for cost. :w00t:

Dale I can't remember ride heights off the top of my head. I'll see if i can find the paperwork and let you know.

LOL alright smartass give me a minute!!! ;)

Right underside of the front subframe to floor 120mm (one of the bars thats travelling front to rear that bends and go up to the brace bar part at the front) you can see it this pic the one the lower wishbone connects to.

Bottom of rear light to floor 325mm

Happy now? :w00t: ;)
