just fitted the front suspension. what a nightmare that was. i cnt imagine what it would be like if i wasn't putting HILO's on as there is no way i would have been able to get the knuckles in with the standard trumpets.
gonna make a start on the rears tonight aswell.

rear suspension all fitted now. just need to go round and tighten all the nuts etc up on it. then tomorrow i will fit the rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes and then i just have the front to sort out.(stupid ball joints)
after that then it is just a case of fitting the new front brakes and getting it back on the ground and having a drive!!!

front hubs sorted!!!!! also put the new CV joints onto the driveshafts. everthing buttoned up tight and is now ready to go onto the car. just need to connect up the front brake hoses to the subby while i have the extra room.
Then driveshafts in and hubs on the n discs and calipers and bleed! also must fit the front shocks as i have also left them off for now for a bit of extra room aswell!!

Driveshafts = DONE
Hubs = DONE
Brake Hoses = DONE
Calipers Mounted = 95% Done(will get to that in a sec)
Shock Absorbers = DONE
just need to put the pads in and fill and bleed the brake system.
HOWEVER when i put the caliper retaining bolts in they have gone all the way through on one side and are touching the disc. anyone else had this problem? i am going to take them out and grind a bit off each of them.
also as you might be able to see on the pics i have the hilos wound right to their lowest setting. this is because teh cones are so hard and "BIG" at the moment that they do not have much give. hopefully they will soften up and settle teh suspension a bit after a short drive and i can then sort teh suspension out properly.
also had a well earned beer. Lite in carbs not alcohol by the way before anyone asks!!

I had similar problem with my 4pot bolts. I just added a couple of small washers rather then cutting the bolts down.

shaved the bolts down with the angle grinder and they work fine. didnt have any washers!!
i have now bled the brakes(after retigtening a few hose connections) so i just need to put the wheels back on and have a test drive!!! oo er
i am still concerned with what the ride hide is going to be but will have to see when it is back on the ground.

back on all fours!!!! and drives back and forwards and brakes except that the wheels are pointing at slightly the wrong angle!!! not straight but both pointing outwards. looks like i need to look into the steering arm track rod ends. obviously with changing to the cooper S steering arms i need to adjhust teh track rod length aswell.
also i think i need some new adjusters at the rear as the look like they are not tightening up to their fullest

well after chatting with JohnK from SC at Bingley i have decide to push on with the K100 1061cc build.
I have orded mains bearings. big end bearings and thrust washers and ten long head studs and flanged(hehe) head nuts and a centre main strap. came in at just under a 100 quid with delivery. i can now take them back with me and get the block into a machine shop to start having the work done.

might have dropped the engine of at a machine shop today..... .. they are well up for it and really know what they are talking about. going down tomorrow to have a look at the dry build and figure what is needed. 500 dollars for an offset overbore though!!!!
i feel ill...this engine is going to cost me a lot of dough. think i need to get to the gym to make even more use of it!!
