bought an engine hoist so i could put the engine back in. I HATE ENGINE MOUNTS. what a bugger they are to get in line. managed to do it eventually so now i just need to hook up the fuel and carb and a few other bits and bobs and see if it will start!!

oh yeah i need to pop a ball joint and put one drive shhaft back in aswell!! got one in but it was a nightmare doing the other one, so i left it and will pop the ball joint and do it that way.

Things to do:

Drive shaft into pop joint.
Connect gear linkage
connect exhaust manifold
connect inlet manifold and carb and fuel
reconnect rad and fill with fluid.
connect heater take off from head(make a gasket aswell)
check the wiring for the cranking power supply for megajolt as it does not appear to be making a spark!!!

yikes thats a lot and i bet ui have forgotton a few things aswell. shouldnt take too long though hopefully.

well i bought a booster pack thingy and charged it up and it ran like a champ.

Tonight though i did a bit of research into why i was not getting a spark. low and behold all it was, was the VR sensor polarity was reversed, so i swapped it over got a spark and hey presto the car fired up!!!!

WELL CHUFFED.

what is strange though is that i have got all stock ford wiring so i havent moved anything around whilst making the loom. But the sensor i have used is the sen8D one which came with the SC kit and although that connects to the plug on the loom it was wired opposite to the way i needed it. something to watch out for with the SEN8D sensor i suppose.

need to do the tappets in the morning then i just need to go to DMV and get an extension for the driving permit so i can try and get it smogged and finally registered.

Hey,

Sorry for sort of hi-jacking but:

I just went to open the drivers side door this afternoon and the door handle [exterior] broke off  . SHOCK HORROR. so now Guz has no handle on the drivers side door. Tomorrow i'll get a replacement, but being in australia it will take a few days to get the part. But i noticed that the handles are universal between drivers and passengers? Have you ever had to swap/taken one off? Because i tried [even looked / tried to follow in the manual] how to do it, but with no success.

thanks for readdddding, and i hope to see soem pics of your beast soon

i had one come off in my hand aswell. it was pretty easy to get back in. to rods/dowels on either side of the handle which push into the other part of the handle and then there is the other two parts that just clip in aswell. does that make sense? also is there anywhere to get the handles?
