Find out minimum ride height for MOT

i don't think there is one

have you seen how low some VW's run

i think if its too low for a ramp the MOT man can road test the car to test it (have not tried this just what i have read on VW forums)

Ah ok. I did mean in terms of getting it on the ramps. I've stuck the back up a little bit, so hopefully it should be fine.

I drove RUSTY!!!

Took him for a little pottle around the close, just to get a taster of what to expect from more extensive test drives tonight. The vibration is a little on the harsh side, but not ever so bad, expected really from having the engine and subframe solid mounted. The idle speed on choke is really high, until you push it in and the engine just dies, so the carb definitely needs some fettling. Tried the brakes too, they do stop, but I couldn't really do a proper test as I still have a lot of rubbish in the car that kinda shot forward when I did brake.

Rang ML Motorsport too, who've agreed to have a look at quick setting the carb on Friday afternoon just to make sure the mixture is going to be ok for getting me on the L2B ok.

Got my wiring for the dash switches through from Vehicle Wiring Products too, so can get on with that tonight!

Mine was too low to go on ramps, I had to take the car to a garage with a pit and drop in brake testers. When the front wheels were tested it became clear that it wouldn't come out without dragging the sump slightly, so when i went for the retest the brakes were tested with a g-meter, the weight of the car and a run up the road and slam the brakes on. If you're too low there are ways around it, but whether your garage can cope, I guess you'll find out tomorrow.........
