In the last week of July 2007 I was sent to Brussels by my company for some training (Lean Six Sigma - exciting stuff!). Anyway, it was about this time that I thought, realistically, the Vtec was never going to be done for BH2N. The shell was still bare and needed a fair amount of welding. I had the Honda D series subframe, and the engine, but the loom was a mess, and there was A LOT of work left to do.

So, I thought, with the sale of my Fiat Coupe I had a bit of spare cash, I could buy another mini. The plan was to get one with MOT and tax to last me til after Germini. Howwever, frantically scanning Ebay, forum for sale pages and and other website I could think of I came across this topic. Its amazing what you can find when you look hard enough! I went to see it on the Saturday before I left for Brussels on the Sunday, and midweek I decided to buy it, following a few international phone calls! The Saturday I got back saw me delivering the Coupe up to Derby, to rush back to take delivery of the Minus that evening. Sunday I was throwing out the scrap inside and generally getting to work!

Well, thats the introduction done with. Right now its very late, and I've got to pack, and be up at 5.30am (6 hours) to go to Brands! On my return I'll update this with more pics. A LOT has happen since I took delivery just over a month ago now (1 month and two days actually I think!).

Oh yes, and the name. Rarz said I have to name this one, and to be honest I think this one deserves a name, or at the least I was able to think of a fitting name, two in fact! I've given it the ironic nickname of Rusty, and its proper name - Mr Hoskins, as a tribute to Bob Hoskins, since he's small on height, but a fapping legend!

i though that you were frantically trying to get the Vtec done... failed... and were bumming a lift when all along, you had a Spare car?????? bit like dumb and dumber "hey harry, you can wear my extra gloves, 2 pairs make my hands all sweaty!!!"

Ahhh, #30 re-surfaces! Jammy, if you could keep the Minus register (www.miniminus.co.uk) up to date and fully supplied with photos I'm sure people would appreciate it. I've emailed them links to this thread and the forsale thread you've linked to.

I think there's almost enough of us for a 'Plastic Mini' section on the forum now!

Did you not fancy the engine he was selling as well?

lol, Id like to see you get a Vtec in the standard minus front
or maybe that is where the D could go once you have the vtec working

Major B, I didn't actually see the engine, but at the time I couldn't afford the engine as well, if I was to be able to buy the other bits it needed to get it ready for the BH2N run.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Vtec in it either, but in the back I think! Myself and Bounce were talking about how to do the gear change system whilst we were away. Thats a long way off happening though!
