Thanks guys!

;D I've been slacking on the wheels, all i've done really is had them resealed with new valves at local tyre place... The wheels were going to have gold centres. The main part was getting the rim polished up again, but its hard work and i need the car back on the road so i havn't got a clue when that'll be done.

I'll be attempting the wings tommorow..... I'll see how it goes.

Well today i spent doing the wings to clear the new wheels.

Marked up where to cut:

Made the cuts and bend the metal out to form a new lip:

This made most of the paint on the new lip to crack and chip so i chipped it all off and spent a while snipping, bending and grinding the new lip into size and shape:

I then closed up the gaps and painted all the bare metal areas with hammerite, then undersealed them.

Once i had the arches back on, the lip looked standard - The cuts were barely noticable so i was quite pleased that everything went smoothly.

Unfoutunatly after bolting the arches back on and adding a bead of black silicon to the underside of them to seal up any gaps between the body and arch - I then took it for a drive and on the ramp into the driveway the wheels scraped the arches

It was because i reversed out quick so i'll just have to be careful because once on full lock the wheels only have a few millimetres of clearance so no room for suspension travel really.

Anyway i just need to bolt the bumpers back on and put the chrme strip into the back window, then give it a polish :-

Despite all the troubles you've had I think the arches look excellent!

Cheers i was quite relieved that the wing cutting went pretty smoothly...

Despite all the troubles you've had I think the arches look excellent!

ha yeah! I hate to say it but they were definatly worth all the effort - Still pi**ed off though with the fit and quality of the bracket kit ;D

Anyway the last few things i've got to do:

Seal up back window and insert chrome strip
Buy and fit chrome indicator bulbs

Then its just a case of cleaning it. The engine bay is filthy with pink dust from all the sanding and things, the boots a mess too - Needs the boot kit refitting.

Oh and as of today - I have to fit my gearlinkage!

Dont forget to put your mirrors on lad :teehee:

Looks like this car has come up a treat!

Think i may be taking mine off the road when the insurance comes to renewel, so i can save up some money and finish the car where it needs sorting! IE oil leak knocking engine dirty engine bay etc etc.

Wish i had your thread to look at when i first bought my car!

hmm i was hoping nobody had noticed the mirrors - I like the smooth look :D

I don't use my side mirrors anyway, its was much safer to look out of the window than struggle with my old bullet mirrors i had.

I will get some at some point, just got to get round to it.

Good luck with your car :teehee:
