Well about a month ago i bought my 1986 mini city 998. Its got a solid exterior thats been well looked after and has been resprayed about this time last year. Its had a few bits done to it its got 12x6 black ultralites, group 2 arches, bullet mirrors, stage 1 kit etc so from the outside its all good. But when you get in, it starts to go downhill. The cheapo carpets are grotty, the steering wheel's badly worn and too small, the dials are bubbly and manky, the dial surround falls off when you go over bumps, the choke doesn't lock properly, the switches are very particular in the way they like to go on and off, the seats are covered in stains which i can't shift, the from seatbelts are mismatch, ones blue, ones black, the door cards fell apart when i took them off, the handles aren't so chrome anymore and the fur headlining that had been glued over the original fell off. There are a couple of good bits inside; theres a JVC headunit, a denon amp and 2 MB quartz speakers which sound pretty good.
So from the inside its a mess, but all the electrics work, it starts first time everytime, runs perfectly, and has solid bodywork and a new MOT and tax so i payed a grand for it.
Anyway heres a few pics:

Then the interior

and what the fur headlining revealed:

The ICE is ok though (the fur around it was what fell off the roof too)

and its got the usual grotty engine bay:

Well i'v given it a good service and a good checking over and a couple of rust little rust clean ups, so now i'm onto getting it all sorted out inside!
My plans at the moment are an £800 interior revamp

including classic buckets, rear seat cover, a CF W&P dash, smiths gauges, white 3 dial speedo assembly, leather mountney wheel, new handles and carpets, chrome bezels for all the switches and air vents and hopefully CF door cards from smudger (depending on how things go with money)
