Well thanks for clearing that up GW. I can now see exactly why an ammeter would be useless. I still think i'll go for a temp and oil pressure gauge though, basically because i like to be in the know, would just generally like them and have 3 holes on my dash to fill >_<

Thanks anyway. You don't happen to know what comes with smiths gauges do you GW? What extra will i need to buy ontop of the gauges to get them wired up and working?

One would hope they come with everything you need to connect them, ie pipes for the oil pressure, and lamps with all and maybe if you're lucky some wire... and connectors, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Far as i know you get all you need to fix the gauges in your car. My choice would be smiths as they look
better than tim gauges in my opinion what do you think, all mine where second hand acquired at mini shows just replaced them one by one when
i saw a better one

Very nice, got everything you'll ever need! I'm not going to buy any gauges until i'v been to a couple of shows to see if i can find anything of use.

Yeah i would, but go to the stalls that have the gauges in a cabinet on display you get a better quality gauge they are nearly new if not new a bit more expensive
though. GOODLUCK in your search.
