Just reviving this thread to ask about Dinitrol vs waxoyl. Dinitrol has been mentioned in other threads but mostly in a neutral kind of way. Dinitrol seems to offer a three-stage protection system. Any views?

I've heard that it's better in the way that it creeps into every nook and cranny. But I think it's more expensive and Waxoyl can be made to work pretty much just as well, so long as it's heated up and has a little white spirit added to get it flowing right.

When waxyling (or dinitrolling!!), is it better to remove the rear subframe assy, shocks and exhaust system to apply the stuff? I know its an easy enough job in many ways, but just want some views on this. Obviously with those items removed it makes the spraying etc much easier than masking etc. Any views?

I suppose it would help if you really wanted to be professional. Then you could also paint the rear subframe with Hamerite or whatever?

But I don't think it's necessary to dismantle you're Mini whilst rust proofing it.

I've used some of that in my battery box and inside the doors on my sisters Mini and it's much like Waxoyl but under a different name.

So go for it buddy.
