i doubt the carb is the limiting part of your intake system...bet its ur valves :shifty:

but lets just say your engine is 150bhp monster and the carb is killing it, then a hif44 will be the best bet, why not mod (via vizard) the hif44? either way a rolling road is needed to get the fueling right :D

or better still if either carb costs few bob why not put it towards a set of roller tip rockers? (aslond as u already have a carb :) )

The hif 44 will be best for your 1293cc engine!

Depends on the spec of the engine really, but if its reasonable spec and expected to be producing maybe 80-100bhp then I would say a HIF44 would be your best bet.

My 1293 was pretty high spec, and fitted with the normal tuning goodies (Maniflow STII manifold, 1-7/8" system, flowed inlet manifold etc) and it produced just over 100bhp on a HIF44. I think a HIF38 would strangle it to be honest.

HIF44.

If your head is standard, then no matter what else you do, you are close to the maximum flow with just a stage 1 kit fitted, so to make Vizarding a 44 worthwhile it should be done in conjunction with sensible head mods aswell.

All IMHO, of course :shifty:

1275 huh! hehe. You gots you a sprite engine i bet! with that 38. Go HIF44, no real adjustment on the 38 either. But remember its the valve sizes, and more importantly cam, which controls how much air you can get into the engine, the carb just lets it in there. If you hav a 38 on your 1275 the cam will be about as mild as humanly possible! (sprite and rio engines) Putting a HIF44 will give you no more power. If u cant be bothered to switch the cam for the moment, wack some rockers and a 44 on there, thatll give you more valve lift AND power.
