did you trim the front arches for the 10x6's???

No, straight out of the box - theyr'e not genuine WP's, they are from Minispeed, I think the abs plastic is easier to live with than the fibreglass W&P arches.

No, no body modifications at all, well, except for a number of extra holes here and there, and brackets welded in for the rear seatbelts.

Right then, it's been a really hectic couple of weeks. The MOT was booked for Wed 11th June, but I had to put it back twice as I was waiting for my replacement steering rack to arrive. Anyway, I got it on Thursday, fitted it in the evening, worked on the car till 1.00 am. Then I took a half day off work yesterday to finish a 'few' jobs off. MOT was booked for 7.00 PM, and I made it by the skin of my pearly whites. Included in the drama was a bonnet just fitted and wouldn't open incident - anyway, I managed to get that sorted out. So, yes it passed! But there is a down side - the car will not drive in first or second gear. I'm not quite sure what is wrong yet - any suggestions welcome... I can select first and second, but there is no 'bite' or drive. The slave is okay, and I've adjusted the arm throw.
I was hoping to be able to ust the car - naturally, but when I went to get my 'free' tax disc, the Post Office system wanted to charge ma 120 bucks. Nedless to say I declined their very kind offer seeing as it should be free for a 1968 car. I now have to wait until I can visit the local DVLA office to sort this out.

To be honest, I should be over the moon, but not really feeling too great about it until I can sort the gearbox or tax issues.

Anyway, I've not got any pictures of the complete article - I'll get them soon, so here's a few of the steering rack job.

So it's been a while since I last posted an update. After passing the MOT in June, the car has, most frustratingly been off the road ever since. No 1st or 2nd gear makes for pretty difficult driving, especially when the engine has not been run in yet. I did drive it once since the MOT, but that was not a pleasant drive. Anyway, the engine is now out and returned to Morspeed for the repair, so once that's back, it'll be going straight back in.
So while that's in the pipeline, here are some of the pics that I took just before the MOT.

Well, I thought it was about time I updated some progress here. While I have been patiently waiting for my engine **tries very hard not to say anything he shouldn't** ... I have been kept busy with a few jobs on the mini, alongside workiing on the Metro.
My original hydraulic brake light switch did not work, so for the MOT, I had to rig up a switch on the pedal box, but seeing as access is not an issue with the engine out, took the chance to pop in a new switch.
Wasn't happy with the dash lining, so I got Retro Retrims to make me up a set of sound proofed linings - lovely quality, and fits really well.
I also decided to add some extra soundproofing on the floor, so another 7 sheets may improve matters just a tad...
Also fitted the bulkhead soundproofing which wasn't too difficult, but should make a difference.
All I need now is an engine to grace the space in the engine bay... anyone seen an 'S' engine looking lost?!

Wooden dash removed, my home made lining visible...
