Its amazing how the noise it makes sounds just like a really agressive top end knock - had us worried there for a while.
she's running fantastic - getting the idle right is an on-going fiddle, but not a major problem. She accelerates better than she ever did and in the last 24 hours I have found it hard to resist, especially with a fiesta ST tonight on the way home.
I am genuinely trying to be a bit gentler with her, but its all so good at the moment - just makes it worse that I missed castle coombe.
new sound deadening is required for the front and rear, old stuff had gotten wet at some time and stinked bad. so noise levels are up, and some minor vibrations need attention - rear view mirrors being one.
touch wood this new engine will stay good and I'll look forward to seeing you at shows soon.
gotta catch up with Pro-mo this week, apparently a revised exhaust manifold is in circulation that gives better clearance on the passenger side pot-joint. we ( mostly john ) replaced both inner CV joints on saturday, the passenger side one was fried and near bone dry, driver side had already been done, but i got a good deal on a pair so it made sense to swap them both out while she was up in the air.

quick update on recent problems - sure enough, one of the exup blanking plugs had abandoned car, john made a new one up, wedged it in and its sweet as a nut again.
