Well hello there!!!

Will roofless be ready for the ASBO run?

its beena while - but shes had a new engine fitted and all is good again - has anyone fitted a secondary electronic water pump?

YEEEEEE HAAAA wicked mate glad its goin well! i wont be long now even tho iv had a few set backs!

Well im thinkin of puting an electric pump in my self but we will see how she runs first!

what we have noticed is that if left to idle it'll warm up to 100 degrees pretty quickly but the top hose stays cool - maybe it just needs a bit of gentle help to push the water around?

Well myn takes a while to warm it is fast but nothing to dramatic & the top hose's get smoking! so im not sure whats happening ur end! perhaps check thermo out etc ( my advantages are that i have the original clock/brain etc so i get all the error codes up straight away wich i had a few of so slowly sorting them out now!

its been a while so here is an update of the last month or so's activities;

the new engine runs so much better than the old one, its clear the original engine was flawed from the start - it revs so cleanly and eagerly its astounding.
We always knew there were issues with the old gearbox, but the new one is as smooth as oiled mink - no clunks, knocks, doinks or anything - just smooth, simple quiet up and down shifts.
power is definately up, its far more aggressive and lurches forward like a thing possesed, traction is still good but wheels spins in second and third shows the clutch is working well.

we are going to try and be a bit more gentle this time

I'm very very happy.

John has also re-painted the side sills and front bumper, and the quality is superb. We have used a new and far batter laquer which really makes the flip effect in the paint more vibrant, the only downfall now is that the rest of the bodywork maybe looks a little dull in comparison, so a fuller respray may well be in the making.

the cooling issues seem to be absolved - the simple addition of a rally spec radiator cap on recommendation of pro-mo has done the job. A new fan, adjustable controlling has also got her cooling right down properly when you need it to - you can feel far more air moving through the inner wing now compared to previous.
John has also added a by-pass switch so we can manually boost the cooling at any time if we want. All hoses now heat up and the new thermostat is clearly making a diference.

finally, new toys have been added - new in car multi-media system from kenwood, new amp for bass, and night vision infra red camera just for a bit of fun. Its closer to being a jet fighter than its ever been
