i just dont see how your going to get to 400kg even with a space frame. im trying to find the photobucket account for them i dont think they did a project log.

The Monte Carlo is 464kg, and thats got a heavy K series Vtec with supercharger...

just out of curiosity if the kit were to be put into a clubman would a turbo fit to you think?.

the biys do a drive in -drive out for around £5500.00 I think - best to phone and check as the pricings have gone from the web-site, but the kit is still listed at £2950.00

it tells you on the website what other things you need to allow for.

Mine stands me at around £5400.00 at the moment, including the costs for Covics to install and prep the loom, and all new guages, new disks pads etc.

with a heavily modified exhaust manifold you might get a small wheezer in a round nose - bags of spare room all around the engine bay, especially where the radiator used to be. the inlet side of the affair would be simple.

I'll try and chuck a pic of the engine bay on again later.

Are you sure martin!! surely the mini has cost you more than that i would say total build cost!

Bigger brakes etc 300
Basic kit £2950
lsd £600
GOOD R1 engine with looms 5pw etc £1400
Good Wheels & tyres £400 eg minilights
power comander £180

Slipper & race clutch £500
Buckets seats £240
Sparco Harnesses |£180
6 point Rollcage £340
ETC ETC ETC

& were allredy at 9 grand! & theres loads left to get lol

the conversion to R1 running gear has cost in the region of what i said - the car as a whole is a sh*tload more than that, I can assure you :yinyang:

The body is almost rust free, i have spent 11k or there abouts so far.. i have a rear beam, nice wheels, arches, de-seamed body, roadster kit etc and i'm looking at another £3k to finish it with an A-series
