new minor problem. chain has slackened of a bit and to get the tensioner sitting nicely its is wound right out but now clashes with the end plate on the engine casing and cant adjust any further - foolishly took a link out of the chain and now need new chain - can I cut the high tensile nut in half so it doesn't clash against the engine casing?

best way is in a lathe, you can actually buy half nuts as well.

cant u just move the sprocket around on some of the threaded holes not sure if yours is the same setup as mine ...

Its not mine. Theres 3 in our club. all 3 drove to the event and back.

The yellow one had some problems, so me and Steve were fixing it and test driving them over the weekend. Well fun little cars.

did you get loads of people taking your photos en-route? I'll bet you caused quite a stirr !!

the attention they get is immense. Everyone smiles when they see a mini, but these things drive people wild. We were sat up around the camp till 4am every night/morning and people were still taking photos right up past midnight. We even had people asking to sit in them for photos. I would love to build one myself, but dont have enough space.

WOW its taken me two hours to read this dam page for a dislexic monkey id say it was dam good going HEHE

Anywho i just want to say what an inspiration readin this was im off down the garage to get the mini undersealed & bang the beam axle on! then RING PHILL & Darren to say yeeehaaaa promotive! I cant wait to get my kit! paid the old deposit a few weeks back lSD going in PLus a nice cut carbon fibre k&n on the side waiting for me. that phill makes what A GUY! hes a He must be getting fed up of me ringing & ringing about things. but id just like to say when darren took me out in the demonstrator firstly DAM he can drive Secondly wow i was excited ( my cash was then theres!!!)


Any pointers u R1 mini lot certainly you MARTIN on the build would be greatfully recived!

quick update.........

got scott oiler and dual drip feed
got new gear set and chain - higher ratio for vertical take off
got half nut to adress clearance issues with engine casings
got new idler gear to replace the one I screwed up in Holland

thanks to the boys at Pro-MO for sorting me out short notice !

all being well, this saturday afternoon it'll be back to business
