I would say its looking good, but theres a lack of pictures to drool over.... :) I really can't wait to see this thing in the metal! The noise it makes in the video is great! Does your R1 have the exup exhaust valve? I know my old man's has just wondering if the injected ones did, and how you'd got round it?

doesn't use the exup - just threw it away. Phil modifies the loom to suit and away you go. :ermm:

quick update..................

drove it for quite a way tonight through the country lanes by Pro-motive.

It is mental. there is no other real way of describing it.

Acceleration is outrageous, torque steer is quite harsh but I'm pretty sure thats mainly due to the suspension geometry being all over the place, brakes are good.

All the talk of a lack of torque has its grounds but stay on the revs and it flies.

it sounds superb up front and the exhaust note ( with the roof down ) makes the hairs on your neck stand up. :P

Clutch control is going to take a lot of getting used to, so if you see me dont laugh if I stall a couple of times. :ermm:

Then the fuel pump packed up and the fun was over. :dontgetit: Tomorrow night new fuel pump ( a decent Bosch one this time, not another ebay special ), a bit more tweaking by Phil and Daz at pro-motive and it'll be smiles all round again ;)

To Southam on the weekend for suspension geometry, and finally the rolling road on the 30th with the rest of the guys from Central and Rugby.

good stuff i've been getting mine out of the garage a few nights a week and taking it around the lanes sooooooooooooo much fun whats it like with the bigger wheels i'm tempted to try some 13's with wider tyres to try and make the most of all that power

i dont find the clutch too bad i think i may need to adjust mine a touch as i seem to find myself riding it a bit too much... hill starts are amusing but i have a fly off handbrake which helps alittle... its maily the throttle is just so bloomin responsive and the engine revs so fast you can sometimes sound like a tit pulling away if your alittle too heavy on the right foot lol
is that what you run 14's? i was thinking of say 13x6 or 12x6 i really dont know i wanted something with alittle less offset than my wellers

the tyres on my 14's have a rolling radius only 6mm larger than 175-50-13's, they're a bit dearer and you're limited in choice. Having given mine a squirt tonight and spun the wheels in 2nd and 3rd I cant imagine what it would be like with 10's ? you must be leaving a lot of rubber behind you on them hill starts :ermm:

re-test on saturday adn hopefully the commander unit will be working by then - if not I've been given 3 ways to lean out the fuel supply and get the emissions down. The MOT guy told us one way to do it :dontgetit:

be good to see you at the shoot-out. You can say hello to your old subframe :ermm:

I'll have to have my hair done for a photo call :ermm: where are the dassett hills, that sounds like oxford banjo country to me. you can take a few snaps of the cars, we'll title them beauty and the beast :dontgetit:

update

couldnt get to re-test as she's up at Pro-motive having last few technicalities sorted but the good news is Phil has sorted the fueling, the commander unit and pressure regulators.

this really is the last few items on the list now - assuming I dont break anything else

fit pot to diff with magnetic pick-ups for electronic speedo
make and fit bracket for reed switch
install rear seat-belts
stick on 2 reflectors
test commander unit
repair fault to wiring on alarm
fit new switches for rear electric windows
calibrate / programme electronic speedo

clean and polish and shes ready to go.
