fuel cell re-fitted and return pipe installed
dash wiring complete and dash re-fitted
new Neutral position switch fitted and LCD gear position indicator - worked first time !!
water temp guage light coverted to blue LED - my god John's good - now matches the rest of the guages.
next jobs:
extend armature for clutch master cylinder
fit clutch master cylinder
fit speedo & tacho and reed switches
scratches touched up by paint geezer
few small dents removed by dent geezer
valet and leather treatment by valet geezer.
Try the stereo and fit second optima battery and power caps if necessary ( almost definately )
It'll be on its wheels this week, and I'm pretty sure we wont be able to wait, and take it for its maiden voyage
requests:
supermotolee - cheeky I know, but any chance you could post a photo showing the 'rest' position of your gear selector armature, and clutch armature?
thanks.

all 20 yards of it.
Lessons learned this week:
it needs plenty pf revs to get going and stalls easily - It'll come with practice
dont drive up to a gate and then remeber you have no reverse gear
It sounds fantastic
always check the positive power feed to your tacho before stripping down a perfectly good ECU becuase you assume thats whats not working!!
John took her for a spin and so far so good. Desperately want MOT now so we can give it a real blast!!
jobs left to do this week:
mount sensor for speedo
refit front bumper grill and surround
refit stereo and front speakers, carpet etc
decide just how to sort the brake servo issue out.
Not sure what to do for brake servo - We cant identify the spoecific point on the throttle bodies that can be drilled out to create a vacuum feed. We are considering making a CNC'd billet inlet manifold so we can incorporate a vacuum take-off from each cylinder, and also trying to get the firm that sells / makes electronic vacuum units to take us seriously and let us buy one.

niiiceee one lad, drive towards a gate and realise you had no reverse ey? LOL. Take the brake servo off? I wouldnt be drilling a vacuum hole in an R1 inlet manifold anyway to be honest.
thats just the problem - I may be thick ( In fact I'm pretty sure I am ) but we cant identify any element in the throttle body assy that would facilitate drilling and tapping to take a vacuum feed off The injected engine doesnt have inlet manifolds per say so w are now thinking of adding 4 short pieces of tube to create an inlet manifold of sorts - but we're not sure how this may effect fuelling and running on the engine?
any rocket scientists out there?

This is my mates car, the clear pipe running fron underneath the carb is the vacumn for the servo, it is attached only to the one intake and runs fine, on the carb version there are holes already drilled in all intakes, which are blocked with screws normally, I don't know if you have the same on the injection version
Cheers

How do these drive on the road compared to normal minis? Do you have to rev it hard everywhere?
