My worst, fell asleep and drove into a taxi. As you do. The whole side was damaged, can't see it too well in the pic.

Here's my clubman estate after i went into the back of a volvo at about 30, wet road little grip lots of braking very little steering. Dragged home with help from a friend spent 3 months arguing with insurance company, then rebuilt front and been driving it since. Drivers door makes a small clicking noise as it just touches a panel when closing, serving as a lasting reminder.

November last year, pics say it all really, i was in the left lane before the van hit me, doing roughly 30mph saw it coming at last second, driver looking the other way whilst accelerating nat about the same speed. Gained a nasty bruised knee from whacking it on the steering column (breaking the cover) Glad for the bucket seat as it stopped me hitting the door, several other bruises from seat belt etc appeared a few days later. Mini is being rebuilt soon, new front end (obviously!) including subframe and rack, main body fine though all doors open ok and floor good too (lucky really i guess)

january last year. was driving to work at 6.40 am. took a slide on a normally gritted road that was a sheet of ice. was only doing about 35mph...went forwards into the ditch, because the rear end was so light ended up going almost right over.




got stuck in the car for a while. i was sat on the windscreen calling my dad saying 'dad i've had a crash, i think it looks quite bad but don't worry i'm fine'. couldn't get out because the doors were wedged on the drivers side against the bank and the passenger against a big dense hedge. managed to get out the passenger side by opening the window and climbing into the hedge.




and that last photo is the last i saw of the little fella letter from the insurance came through saying it was a write off on my birthday of all days.

but thankfully i was ok, only scratches were from the hedge!

T-Boned by a cortina. This is about 20 years ago. My wife (then girlfriend) was sitting in the passenger seat. She came out with scratches and bruises.

Gav is the front end all cut off or is most of it in the front seats..? thats not nice.

Putting aside the morbid curiosity it would be interesting to know more.

What were the fatal injuries?

The deformation is actually more progressive than I'd have imagined, looks like the sills have folded by the cross member and you can't help but think a door bar would have helped.

I'm also intrigued by where the seat belt mounting is.

Di (driving) had broken wrist and a detacged collar bone i think. i (passenger) got a broken rib and 8 stitches in my hand.
