now you're just showing off with the bellhousing! lol

What sort of end result are you after from the car though? Track, drag, or just something to mess around with on weekends?

The final outcome im looking for is a noisy, good looking, well finished, solid car! Ive spent so long doing it, last thing i want is for it to fall apart after a couple of years! I know it wont go round corners nicely, just the wheel spacing and where the heavy engine sits, means it would be going backwards into the gravel at every corner! But, if i can make it go straight quickly, then i would be tempted to give it a run or two up the strip! Main use will just be for going to a few shows, general running about in..........and massive burnouts! (any tyre sponsors reading?)

be warned though - apparently fuel prices are estimated to be at around £5/litre this time next year (!!)

....which does mean, my 7mpg v12 will be SELDOM used! lol

Well.........after ALOT of swearing, i think im ready to get the engine in the mini (im all excited now!)

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=ZjnPf85CEt0

The vid doesnt really do the sound of it justice, just wish i could keep the zoomies!!

I had major problems with the take-off plate for the remote oil filter! The after market cast alloy one was so badly designed, it just *Drunk or yellow human water* oil from the outer body and through the bolt holes! so be aware if your gonna do the same thing.

So i ended up cutting apart a brand new oil filter for a quck fix!! And it was like welding tinfoil when i put it back together.......its only 0.4 thick!!

Right......im off to go and wake up all the lucky people within a mile radius!! Woo ha ha ha

Made a few big changes, i was going to try and leave the halfshaft and driveshafts standard, but this ment that the engine sat WAY over on the drivers side, so much so that the water pump was nearly outside of the original bodywork. Plus the rear drivers wheel was snagging on the water pump, move the water pump? Nope.....twas going to be alot of work to get the engine correct and weighted way over there, so ive decided to do it properly, engines is being mounted in middle (well COG is just off center) and i will mod me driveshafts to suit, just to get it up and running, but will then have to get some made up. Cut and shut driveshafts will never be man enough for it, but now im slighty worried about having tough shafts made, because the box will be the next thing to go if there good shafts. but thats a long way off, and im not gonna worry too much yet.

Then whilst shuffling the engine and car about, i couldnt seem to get the mini low enough for my liking, seemed ashame as i chopped the roof 3". So..................i cut the front end off, and removed the floor!

Put a new floor in........

Attached File  tmf10082.jpg   801.47K   44 downloads

And the result? From ground to roof, the mini stands at 1120 high!!

The ride height is 120. I spoke to a mate who has a lotus exige, his ride height is 100 at the front and 110 at the rear, and hes only been beached once in a year, so i figure ive got plenty of clearence!
Ive also space framed out the rear, with a removable cradle for the engine, and off the cradle will be a wishbone setup, not the trailing arms i originally planned for. I keep taking steps backwards and redoing old work, but its moving forwards now.
