Ian - I'm pleased the engine is going to a good home - it was good to meet you - you'll ahve lots of fun with the car.

the test drive we went on did not include me giving the car full throttle, trying to scare Ian! or extending the rpm range past 7500 the car produces peak power at 8400 and will run hard to 9000rpm - all I can say is I hope your brakes are good and hold on tight when you do unleash it fully! - on the gearing Ian is going to run the car will be capable of 0-100mph (in 3rd gear) in under 14secs and run to a genuine top speed of 130mph (1st will give over 50mph, second over 80mph, third over 105mph!!)

if anyone wants a replica engine they know where to come!

JK

Just changing the final drive to something more suited to the road than the 4.1 that is currently in there.

John wantted to keep the discs and calipers which is fair enough. I'll be keeping an eye out for some alloy 4 pots!

Ideally I still want to move down to 10" wheels but I'll probably end up staying on 12"s. Aren't Dans 6 pots for 13" wheels?

Well my mate has just confirmed that he can "borrow" his works van so that saves me a bit of money hiring a van

Can't wait to pick it up. Got to have a sort out in the garage tomorrow to create a bit of space for old engine and subby to sit before after I remove them

Hopefully try and sell some more stuff also

Stuck the camera on charge also

cheers for now, an excited Udo

Well its in its new home!

Got engine/subframe home and basically split the engine and subframe and removed the exhaust manifold and throttle bodies. Even the cat was impressed lol

Posted Image

Not weighed it but the subframe even with all the arms and drive shafts is so light

and before anybody says I've split the pot joints wrong part of the deal with JohnK was that I posted the 'pot' part back to him as they have his traction control bits attached to them so they had to come apart anyway.

Going to be making a start on stripping out my engine next week but also start a new job on the 17th so may not be quick progress

cheers

Ian
