Bit more progress over the past couple of days as I have finished the floor mounts for the subframe, photos will follow

Few more holes to drill for the bulkhead mounts on the subframe but they wont take long

Then remove the subframe paint/rustproof the new holes and it can be back on four wheels :)

Deadline is April 20th as local mini club with the city council are having a mini show type thing down on the waterfront so wantting to be there, but yes going to the showdown :)

Once subframe is fitted getting engine in etc will be fairly quick as its all ready apart from a lick of paint which will be on order this week

Only 3 major things which I still have to finalise are the fuel pump/tank setup

how the bonnet will fit/secure, which will sorted once engine is in place

and combined with the bonnet the rad/fan set up to fit behind the grill

Good to hear your cranking on with it Udo!

The tank problem are easily solved, just use a Ford puma pump mounted in an spi tank. I did it in about an hour a few nights ago.

I found a FPR from a Rover 820 in the back of my mini when I was fitting the rear loom. Im not too sure on compatibility but I can't see why it wouldn't work?

Its mounted to the fuel rail so a few mods would need to be made to either fit it to your fuel rail or make an andaptor plate to run a hose to it? I'll have a look at it tonight and get some pics of it, but it could be just what you need, its no use to me as it doesn't raise the Fuel pressure with boost?

Cheers Matty pictures always welcome
one
I'm trying to avoid having to run a return fuel line so going to go scrap yard hunting at some point soon for a celica/mr2 pump and regulator and then fit it to an injection tank somehow

I've seen your posts over on efiminis and no doubt will go that way if I cant find a toyota

Thinking about it on the FPR anything off an injection car "should" (said with caution!) work

Off out to the gargae now to do some more work and I got a substanial tax return in the post today from tax year 2004/2005  why it took so long only the government will know but it does give me the funds to immediatley place a large order for some bits and piece required ie new crownwheel and pinion etc

Tonights progress...not very much!

Drilled the last hole for the floor mounts

Removed the heater and all the front carpet section and underlay so I can drill the last bulkhead mounts - which took ages for some reason

Removed and replaced the tie rod bolts so they were the right way up ie so the nut is on the bottom

So by Sunday I'm hoping to have drilled all the holes and rustproofed them and also re-assembled the front suspension so its on all 4 wheels

Got to wait for the paint to dry dont forget ! Plus hopefully fitting in a scrap yard hunt for a fuel pump

15 holes to drill |
unbolt it all to remove subframe again
prime & wait for primer to dry
Paint & wait for paint to dry
Bolt upper coilover mounts in place
Fit coilovers
Fit brake discs and calipers
Fit wheels

and I'm there - sounds so simple doesn't it :P and it should be but somethings bound to go wrong
