1380 engine fully rebuilt including gearbox, cam timed in.

Also Megajolt system fully installed from scratch including home modified bottom pulley.

Fired up first time on Sunday on the base map. SWEET. Did a full lap of the garage hopping like a kangaroo in celebration.

Just got to load up one of the maps I have acquired, and a bit of fine tuning.

Thank you for the help and inspiration, Matt in particular but there are plenty of others who helped.

Anybody got pics of a vacuum install on your average stage 1 alloy inlet manifold?

Trying to think of the neatest way to do it.

Would this work alrite: Link

Its designed for fitting vacuum gauges so surely will give a good vacuum reading for running megajolt off?

Yep, that'd work fine. But surely your current distributor has a vacuum advance pipe from the carb? Can't you just use that?

didnt think you could use those take offs due to the throttle plate position giving a false reading on decelleration

Im sure its the same reason you cant get a good reading off a vacuum Gauge using the Carb take off. However the Dizzy takes its advance curve off the carb take off, so this would be usefull to know!

why not get a mg metro alloy inlet? it has a vac takeoff for a vac guage or similar on the top, opposite the servo takeoff, well at least mine does :ermm:

liirge is right - I read it on one of their forums. Basically gives a false reading at idle and part throttle apparently.

The vac advance pipe is situated so it gets masked by the throttle disc at idle, less advance will mean less risk of stalling. This isn't ideal for MJ, but not a huge issue as you can adjust the ignition map - it just means you might have to set the first rpm value a bit lower.

The problem with the MG Metty manifold tapping is that it's off centre so more prone to pulsing from the nearest two cylinders.

The alloy carb spacers with a built in pipe (Minispares) look like the best option

I had to go for the carb spacers for my twin carbs, seem to work fine :) I'm also running the pipe through a fuel filter.

I've also got a vacuum gauge connected on the same pipe which seems to be pretty inaccurate. Am I running too much off the pipe?

What would be the best MegaJolt for the Eaton 45 supercharger set up? The TPS or MAP set up?

Cheers

Map if your using the HIF44 carb the tps stands for throttle position sensor so you need to attach this to the carb somewhere which would be difficult.

bit ot dan but how did you get your sc kit so cheap? is this the normal price for them? as im loking at them at mo.

MAP is always the better option, TPS is only useful on systems with multiple separate intakes where getting a clean, average, MAP signal is difficult.
