Couldn't you just use the original swift bolts instead getting custom ones made?

no because even though the threads are right the shape of the head isnt, it had to be greatly reduced for clearance etc, so id have to get some made at the price of about 100 bolts for £200 :shifty: thats the smallest batch and they wont foot the bill and only sell me what i need now as a guy did that and he only bought 1 in the end and they where left with the rest.
Also i dont think the old bolts can be remachined as they have been hardened and that is done after they are cut/made.

The original ones are standard 10mm hex heads, but with a fine thread pitch of 1.25mm
So the new ones have to be the same thread obviously, but the heads will have to be cap heads cut down to 14mm diameter and a cap height of 2mm

Now that i have that quote from the engineer that was also doing the grinding tolerances the guy doing the drawing should be able to finalise it with the tolerances and get it to me. (how long thats going to take i dont know)

Is rethreading the crank out of the question - even if it's just the prototype it could help you to move the project along. Or possibly 3 bolts and 3 dowels?

the threads arent the problem its the heads, so its probably easier just to get them made anyway. :ermm:
I could possibly make somthing temporary with some old bolts just get things lined up, as long as it works i dont mind. i just might end up with alot of strong strange bolts  but im sure i could find somewhere to stick them >_<

hey ed4ran!
from the drawings can i assume that u are using a 1000 or 850 gearbox or just the dropgear and primary, because the 1300 has a larger inner diameter flange on which the bronze bushing runs.
on my 16valve toyota we had to use the 1000 primary and dropgear to make room for the special bolts. we used hardened metric allen-keyed bolts. and did very well.
why all the trouble to make the adapter!? i got mine back in three days!!?
