 You can get engines for about 100 when they pop up, but you normally find them easier if you search for "swift breaking" but make sure its a DOHC one :D
Once i start making them ill probably have a list of links to current engines for sale etc.

Yeah I saw that engine for 750 but no this was a link to just an engine, no gearbox for 40 quid. Thought that would be perfect for what your doing (if the engine works)

Yeah i saw that one, but the person has -1 rating which doesnt encourage confidence, and they are not too descriptive with what comes with it.
I would only go for that if you ask what comes with before hand, and only go a pick it up and pay then.
That way if it dont come with what you expect you can walk away.

one point I feel you may have to point out to the machinist - is that the thread inside the flywheel taper is a whitworth I believe. But it may be worth getting a metric/imperial bolt of the right size, and getting it machined to accept that thread instead, as the tap is usually around the £90 mark alone!

Well, I reckon you should have enough names now for someone to be able to do it for a sensible price!

Drawings have gone to a local engineers for 2 reasons, 1st is to check/provide grinding tolerances, 2nd is to give a quote for them to produce them,
which is good in a couple of ways, mainly, they would be local to me, also they have done something similar before so have some experience of this kind of thing.

So as soon as they get back to me with a quote then i will also get the drawings emailed with the correct and checked grinding tolerances.

I guess its going to be start if next week, problem is im off to cambridge on monday but should be coming back tuesday so that may not be a problem.

Yeah as i said before im going to keep the first one for development, and may take that to different shows as a display one. But getting it there may be the problem, and so it may be easier to have it in a car to also show the setup and spacing.
But im not near that point at the mo so that will all have to wait
