Well no further progress as im waiting on the drawings for the crank end so i can contact some people about getting them made.
The guy doing them has been away working this week, in wales, so hasn't been able to finish them,
He is home thursday so will do it then.

;D i keep looking at it, but i cant do anymore till i have the crankend!!!! Posted Image Posted Image

Very Very interesting thread, i admire you sir, great job!

definately count me in for one of these when they're finished

I am slightly unclear of one thing, you say the stock manifold won't fit? does this mean that the bonnet needs modifying or the whole front end?

Thanks

M

It is kind of a combination of the two, it needs more height, and a little more room further forwards.
But i am going to see if the stock inlet can be modified to fit (basically flipping it upside down).

Hmm, well i dont think that a new crank will be possible, i havent had a quote, but I was told to expect £1700 for a one off,
and not much of a reduction with several being made (lot alone the price of the drawings!!!),
they also said that the crank end is the best method for doing it. Posted Image

Still waiting on drawings, but i know the guy should have the measurements he needs now so shouldn't be long :P

I've found somebody else who may be able to do it Ed - arrow precision. Someone in my club works there and I asked him about it. He says as long as you have got the drawings, they should be able to make it. And in any material you want >_< He also said a crank would be about £1800, but a bulk order would bring it down to £1000 ish. So I'm guessing just a crank end would be a fair bit cheaper.

well i was looking into useing a toyota engine in the back of mine, this however does make life so much more simple.

if you sorted it out as a kit, would that include engine mounts & steady bars too?

i gather the engine would run its standard ECU?

If you get a list going, put my name down.

It should be standard mini engine mounts (but possibly 1 might be new) so you should have those, plus im going to make some brackets to use the mini to steady that goes to the brake/clutch cylinders >_< Do you still use the mini top steady that bolts to the block above the transfer case?
