Well ive just spoken to the guy about the crank end and the last place wanted £500 plus heat treatment for it, and they wanted the crank so the final grind could be done with it on the crank so that it is all true. Posted Image

Hes going to finish the drawings then ill have them off him so i can pursue other companies. :- Posted Image

!!!! thats alot. fair enough it is for a one of peice but if they can get the price down enough it isnt just going to be a one off peice is it! its in their best interest to give you the best price so that sucks!!! :- there has got to be somewhere out there that will be able to do it nice and cheap bearing in mind there business that there would be if its cheap enough.

keep driving for the right price. its out there somewhere!

He says i can pay him for the pics, like £40 which to be fair is good seeing as he contacted several engineering firms to get quotes etc.

Dad's got the number of a bloke down this way who may be able to help. I'll give him a ring tomorrow to see if he can help.

Ed,
Have you spoken to him about volume discount? It may be that you have to fund the first one at the full price, and only when you order several you'll get a better price.
I agree it does seem over priced but I'm not a machinist so my opinion isn't worth much

Cheers
David

Also try MRA Minis, I believe Guessworks knows them well and I've been in contact with them about the manufacture of a custom FD for the B16 conversion, so this shouldn't be too hard for them.
