will a skim not take it out or anything?

The guy who owns it had it on his 1330cc and it went great. He only noticed it on removal.

Think if you can find a decent welder then they'll be able weld it for you.

A skim may remove it, but it obviously depends how deep it goes. Depends if you can afford to get it skimmed to find out. Plus, how much can you afford to lose off it CR wise? You measured the chambers?

If it was fine before he took it off, it may still be fine. You never know, if its just a hairline crack the carbon may clog it back up - as im sure it probly was before. You should be able to get it repaired tho. I'd say it'd be much more economical to have it repaired too, rather than bin it. The time that goes into a well modified head it horrendous, not to mention the cost of buying a modified head, and i'm sure the cost of repairing it will be nowhere near the cost of a new one.

Thwe problem with cracks is that they tend to get bigger with age, i doubt very much that a skim will remove it. Also remember where this crack is, there is the coolant jacket right above it.

that head is fit for the bin, use it at your risk, its only a matter of time

Thanks for the input. Ive sent photos off to my local engine services place to see what they say and a estimated cost for repair.

If it turns out to be too much, I will leave it.
