Its not too bad, but it needs some preventative work doing underneath (although the original ziebart is doing the job well!).

I want to refresh the engine bay, as well as change some of the routing of wires etc to be a bit tidier internally. As well as that it needs two new doors, as the ones that are on it were only ever meant to be temporary and they've been on since 2005! Its also got a couple of tiny rust bubbles coming through on the N/S A-panel, and a rather nasty rust patch constantly growing on the bottom of the O/S A-panel. Also, on the front wings where I've drilled them for arches, rust has got under the paint and is beginning to bubble - the cure for that is going to be proper riv-nuts with stainless bolts - it'll also look neater having cap-head bolts holding the arches on.

Oh yeah, and its been 2 years since I did anything proper to it so I'm getting itchy fingers :mrcool:

Oh, and the electric supercharger, I was going to fit one anyway! Should be worth at least 50bhp when combined with the ITB's and shiny valve caps

You need to work where I do! I quite often come home with stainless M4 riv-nuts and M4 cap screws in my pockets! ;)

I've also got a load of L163 aluminium sheet for general mini bracketry in the garage :mrcool:

Not to mention a shed load of AN fasteners! theft does pay!

Oooh, I don't suppose there's any chance of some of these riv-nuts and cap-heads accidently jumping in an envelope on its way to Derbyshire at some point in the future is there?

(for research and development purposes of course :mrcool: )

Cool, to be honest Combe will probably be too early as I won't have it be pieces by then  But if the offer is there then I'll be in touch soon about then, thank you! :mrcool:

Yeah sure mate, I'm guessing you'll need about 24 riv nuts and 24 M4 x 16 or 20 countersunks? I might even have that many CSKs in the garage to be honest. I'll sort it out though!

Wow, check you with the stockpile of fixings! I'll double check how many, will probably be about that though assuming there's 6 fixings on each arch :mrcool:

Will let you know though dude

Watch out for those dee-dahs Madmax if you've moved to Sheffield. I live in Chesterfield and work in Dronfield so a bit to close to them for comfort

I eventually started my own X16 project in May. Engine is in with driveshafts on so feels like I'm getting somewhere slowly but surely. Its the SBD throttle bodies which are going to drag it out a bit I think. 2k! Crikey!!

Yeah, the SBD's are incredibly expensive, I'm still undecided whether to go with them or save a shed load of money and go the DIY route with Megasquirt and some GSXR750 ITB's or something like that.

But, I got the engine yesterday thanks to Marc who kindly delivered it! Its really clean and and I can't wait to get it in the Mini where it belongs :shifty:
