Right. First time I've read this Tom, or I'd have said sooner...
...I've built a spaceframe for an 2l XE in a clubby and the bulk head needed a fair bit of fettling to clear the gear linkage, and that was with the short throw linkage too. You've said that you didn't want to touch the bulk head, are you definately sure that you won't have too?

By bulkhead, I meant the upper bulkhead section, behind the master cylinders etc...

It will need a section removing and a small box adding to clear the linkage, but this is down below the cross member and not such a huge modification.

Bit more to report - most of the car is back in pieces (again!) now - just got to remove the front subframe and it'll be all but ready for the subframe and engine.

I've picked up the engine now, and I've got a choice of 2 gearboxes, still not sure which one to go for as yet though....

Got my SPi tank, and at the moment I'm in the middle of cleaning the engine and changing the cam belt and headgasket.

Hopefully have it on the road by mid August in time for the BH2N run - here's hoping anyway!

Its starting to annoy me that you've decided to do a 16V conversion, bought the kit, pulled your A series out, sold bits off, got the engine, and two gearboxes, and have started to put things back together in the space that my clubby has had its front cut off....

Lol, ok will get some pics for you when I get a minute, tomorrow I'm changing a gearbox on a Land Rover though, so no pics until after then!

Glad you get them ok James, don't forget you'll need to modify the front subframe to fit the 'stat correctly, PM me if you want a pic or 2.

Agreed Jammy, why does he have to copy!! Lol. I dont seriously think mines going to be ready for bh2n, i'm trying but i've ran out of holidays!
