nope, not as yet, i'm going to ring him tomorrow because i think he's dragging his feet with it.

I want to go up and get the door cards off the doors so i can see about fitting the leather pockets, so it'll be a good excuse to go and have a nosey and see how far on he is with it.

If it's any further forward, i'll take some pics

we have progress!!!!!

Called in today to get the door cards out of the car and progress has been made.

The passenger side is almost complete, just needs the rear arch putting in, then he can start on the drivers side floor, then concentrate on the front.
Then i should have it back!!!!

Then paint, then engine, then interior putting back in, then glass, the MOT then enjoy!

still a long way off though

Been spending more money tonight!

Finally picked out a set of headlights i like. Been looking round for ages and kept looking at the angel-eye sets but remembered how C**p the quality of the last 2 sets were so they were out of the question.

Then looked at the ion coated style ones (blue/yellow tint to them) but didn't think they'd look right.

So, i've gone for the Wipac crystal ones.

Lets hope these are beter quality.

Great project :D if only I had that much to spend on mine, I'd use most of this as a model project for mine :ermm:

cheers chris.

i think i've got most of the bits i need now..

Still to buy

Interior -

New handle set because the chrome has all flaked off on the last set
Maybe a new set of black seatbelts because the ones that are in are all odd
Upper steering column bush

Exterior -

Rear bumper
Maybe new tail lights
Seam strips
Arches
Grille (if i decide to go for mk1)
mk2 Saxo washer jets (spray out in a big fan style)
New numberplate light
Union Jack roof kit because the ones that's on is faded

Then it'll be a case of renewing the mechanical bits like track rod ends, bushes etc because the car had been standing for a few years.

May buy the brand new rear brake back plates from mini sport as they are ready built up. Might be easier than messing about trying to sort the current ones, and they're only £103 for the pair.

Just been up to drop off the new rear shocks, progress has been made. The drivers side is now complete, should have the scuttle panel on tomorrow, then the front end can be put on.

Rear valance is off ready for the new one and the rear arches are still to be done. He reckons a couple more weeks and it'll be ready

No pics because the camera on my phone is shafted!

I need a new windscreen for the car, the one that's in, moisture has got between the laminate.

Does anyone know if Minispares or Minisport etc do delivery of glass or is it collection only?

I hve my eye on either a heated front screen or just a top tint one

Yeah, Saxo black (it's very deep and has lots of lustre to it) with the Old English White roof with the U/J sticker kit again.

I really like the combo as the OEW makes it look pretty retro so though why change it.

Plus, means i can get away with just the outside painted and it not looking odd inside if i were to change the colour

Yey, more progress, the floor, sills, lower rear 1/4 repair and doorsteps etc are all done, scuttle panel is on, just waiting now for the rear arches, valance and front end. Hopefully, it should only take the guy another couple of weeks.

I have one of the disposable cameras back off which is away getting developed, so hopefully i'll have photo's of the step by step bits he's taken.

I'm getting excited now
