Hey dude, this is the one I bought.

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...#ht_1489wt_1059

It took a few attempts for it to work, I had to try all of the different drivers that come bundled with it on the disc. Once I instlled the correct driver, it worked fine, in fact, it connects first time every time too.

This just arrived today, and you're quite right, there are a lot of drivers...

Which one worked for you??

Cheers for the help, Paul.

To be honest dude, I don't know. I just tried them all in succession until it eventually worked. I think I'm going over to take the car for a run tomorrow night if the weather's good, I'll have a look and see which one works.

Great stuff! No updates yet, been busy with work for the last couple of months and the Mini hasn't moved an inch since the beginning of September. Plus I was away all last week on holiday, I'm going to go over tomorrow night to fill the tank and take it for a run. Mainly to keep everything working.

Brought the car home tonight ready to take it out tomorrow, (some retro car meet or something?) Driving home, hooned it a little round a couple of roundabouts following my mate in his Seicento Sporting winter shed, both small nimble cars, only a little bit of fun, he was low on fuel so we soon slowed to about 60 mph and took it easy.

We went our separate ways, on my way up the main road about 400 yards from my street, I notice a massive cloud behind me and could see a liquid trail, fuel and temp gauge seemed normal, parked the car up on the drive and could smell the unmistakeable coolant steam smell. Noticed a couple of drips on the floor and thought that the top rad hose was weeping again. Went to put some water in but it ended up back on the ground. Had a quick look about and noticed the bottom rad hose had popped off.

Out with the tools, off with the coil pack, elbow deep in the engine bay trying to avoid the manifold, (must have been bloody close to it as my hand was getting alarmingly hot.) Wrestled with the bottom hose, slipped it back on and went to do up the hose clip. It was at best, finger tight. Oops! Seems I forgot to tighten it down fully when I put everything back together after the Megajolt set-up. Luckily, it blew off so close to home otherwise it could have been disastrous!

Coolant filled back up now, ran the engine up to temperature again and all it needs is to be bled in the morning as the heater pipes were still cold so I think there may be an air lock, would have done it properly tonight but it was getting close to 10:30pm and didn't want to run the engine for very long so not to upset the neighbours.

So moral of the story, always double check things!

I'll be keeping some tools and water in the car tomorrow just in case too!

Got the cooling system bled nicely this morning, set off for the classic show in Ryhope in Sunderland.

Was quite a good day despite the weather turning quite bad. It's the first time the car has been drived in heavy rain since it was put back on the road.

Here's the oddball trio convoy, the 2.3 turbo Volvo going sideways everywhere in 4th gear in the wet even if Liam liked it or not, the 205 spitting flames out one of the carbs on full throttle, and the Mini, which drove quite well, which was nice.

Spotted quite a few Mini's but I couldn't get pics as all 5 of my camera batteries were flat :D

The Mini behaved itself too on the way home in the rain, the twin speed heater working like a heater should and keeping the windscreen clear, the MJ meaning I could drive through puddles and not worry about the dizzy cap getting water in, all the door and window seals keeping the water out. All in all, I'm happy with it.

Car looks good, did you map the megajolt yourself or download a map?

I think I spy a nice mk1 escort in that reflection, shame you didn't get a picture of that.

:D

Rest are here, but like I say, all 5 batteries were flat, curse my life!!!

As for the Megajolt, I downloaded a recommended map from the autosports lab forum, someone had one which closely matched the setup I'm running, it runs nice and smooth through the revs and the hesitation/misfire at 1500rpm under load has vanished.

There was a few Mk1 Escorts kicking about, I think I prefer them to a mk2 now.

Good call on the MJ dude, it's easily the best thing I have done to mine, would hate to go back to a dizzy setup now, it just seems so flat in comparison. I get much a much smoother revving engine with it. A lot of it could have been using the electronic dizzy with the ballast system though, as I've read they only like 12v, but even still, can't wait to get it on the rollers.

Also seen some of your post on the autosport labs forum, I think im going to try the same map as you for my 266 cammed 1380.

Cool, like I say, it's a very good map all round, might need tweaking slightly for higher in the rev range as the power seems to tail off a bit, but low down and mid range, the previous flat spot has gone.
