Thanks Bean!!!

Another small update, was at a breakers yard yesterday with my mate sizing up intercoolers for his volvo turbo project car we're on with, when I spotted a pretty clean SPI Sprite in red, front end panels had gone in the usual places, but the rest of the car was mint condition, possibly a scrappage car? Anyway, I nabbed the more up to date brake warning dash swicth as I prefer the symbol on the later ones, (yes I am that ******* about the little things lol) And also got the standard 2 piece black roof gutter trim which is pretty hard to come by and very expensive new from Mini spares, I think it's about £50 a side. Total paid, well, not quite sure because my mate bought an intercooler, but the whole lot including a wheel centre for my brothers van came to £40, so maybe £10 for my bits and £30 for the intercooler. Not a bad days mincing really and I'm happy with what I got.

Oh, and by the way if anyone's interested, the breakers yard in question was North East Motor Salvage in Peterlee.

Tell me 'bout it - I'm looking for the grey gutter trim for my 25 - I spoke to the people mentioned above, and they said that it was £90!! :)

You're lucky up there, that you have those places that you can go 'round - We have absolutely nothing down here. Last time I went to a scrappy, they looked at me as if I was stoopid! :)

PS - Nice Audi :)

They have a D reg one too waiting to be cleared I think, it's in the section that's not for breaking yet, but I'm almost 100% sure it had been converted to a cabriolet, I could be wrong as I only saw the front end on the back of a recovery truck. I'll check back in a couple of weeks and see if it's been moved, I can let you know if it's got the gutter trim?

PS - Nice Audi :)

Thanks, I know, it was a really nice car, I wish I'd never sold it for that stupid Maserati :)

I would loooove it if you could!? Thanks!! :) As long as it's the nimbus! :) I could paint a black one, but that just wouldn't be the same! :)

Much appreciated!! ^_^ ^_^

I owe you one, next time we're ooooop norf! ;)

I'm having a looooove affair with every Audi I see at the moment, lol, don't mind me! :P I've now fallen for the 2010 A4 TDi Estate Quattro S-Line Avant! Whoops! :)

I'll keep an eye out as there's a breakers in Newcastle that sometimes gets a few Minis in.

On the subject of Audi's, I'm trying to persuade a neighbour of mine to swap his A5 for my Rangie, as of yet, no such luck! I saw a really nice Ibis white A4 Avant on a 10 plate today with a black grille and black RS4 wheels, such a nice car, I will have another some time soon. What makes it worse though, is that I keep seeing my old Audi driving round quite often as it doesn't live too far from my mates house, still looks just as nice as when I had it, apart from the wheels are sometimes a bit too dirty for my liking :)

Small update..

The roof gutter trim I nabbed from the breakers, expertly modelled by the garage door lol

Stainless door glass runner for the drivers side, original passenger runners seem ok

Bought a pair of walnut door pulls too, just need to find the door openers to match, not fussed about the walnut window winders because
sometime soon, I'll be ditching manual windows for electric :mmkay: (pictures don't do them any justice!)

Also, I've just ordered the megajolt unit and an green/amber/red led shift light which I hopefully have some unique plans for, not saying yet, but you'll have to wait and see.

So next week, I'll order the trigger wheel, extended pulley bolt, bracket for the crank position sensor and the sensor itself. If I can find an EDIS module myself, I'll get that from a breakers too, otherwise, it's eBay to pay over the odds :)

Yeah, I've spoken to a couple of mates who've fitted them, one on a Skoda 130 which is quite a quirky car, and dare I say it, kind of cool nowadays? and the other is on an Opel Manta A, running a C20 Vauxhall engine. Both swear by Megajolt. I'll be on the lookout for recommended maps to get the best out of it too.

Tonight's purchases, EDIS 4 module with coil pack and crank position sensor and a snazzy distributor blanking plug from MRA Mini's.

Bang goes the plan of doing it in stages over the next few weeks >_<

Next week, I'll order the trigger wheel from Specialist Components.

EDIS kit has arrived, just need to mark which wire's which to make it easier and quicker when I come to install it...

The whole sha-bang

Crank position sensor which I might not use as I'd prefer one where the wiring hasn't been chopped

Distributor blanking plug turned up this morning from MRA Mini's, am I right in thinking that you remove the bracket bolt on the original distributor then just pull it out, insert the plug the bolt the bracket back on?

Remove clamp
Remove dizzy,
remove the dizzy shaft from engine (engine stud iirc fits and dont drop it down inside the engine!)
inset plug
fit the clamp and bolt.

Job done as far as the plug is concerned.
