Trim clips for door cards
Rear arch covers, black to match the interior (last ones were grey)
A pillar covers
Boot board, tidies up the boot lid a fair bit.
What it covers up
How it looks fitted
Ground out the tiny spots of rust on the corners of the bonnet and quickly primed it in places until the car goes into paint.
Just ordered new side panels for the center console aswell for when i fit the new heater unit, the later eaters are a different shape so the old console won't fit around the new heater.
Also, the guy has chucked in some other bits and pieces to connect the vents to the new heater free of charge... which is nice.
That's all for now, i think i'll see if i can get up to see the car next week and see how it's coming along

Went to buy some black dash rails to match the interior, (old ones were grey), guy wanted £20 for the pair at the mini shop. In conversation, he mentioned that he once sprayed some door cards to match an interior using flexible vinyl paint. He happened to say that Halfords sell in tins for £10
I thought, hmm, saves me £10 lol so...
Been busy this afternoon. Went up to the bodyshop to get the upper dash rail from the car through the week, set about cleaning it down and de-grease it ready for paint.
Before...
The paint
1st coat
End Result
All in all, really pleased how it's turned out and how easy it was. Just got to get the lower dash rail done, but i'll have to wait until the car comes back out of the bodyshop.

I think i'll be calling into halfrauds today so i'll have a look.
I was hoping that they did beige aswell, because i suddenly realised, my center console, speaker pods and arm rest are grey aswell! Doh!
Unless i re-trim them in beige alcantara?
hmmmm decisions decisions

I found these...
Bumper overiders, bough them a few years back, never got round to fitting them.
Quick clean up with some Autosol and they're like brand new
I think i'll fit them along with corner bars on the back bumper, i'll have to check the clearance for the front with having 4 spots on.
Anyone know if you can fit over riders and corner bars on the front bumper when you have 4 spots?

Started off with buying some black vinyl to retrim the center console, arm rest and speaker pods (speaker pods still to do)
Don't think i've done too bad a job considering it's the first time i've ever retrimmed anything 8)
Main part of the console
Good job the whole underside is hidden
Front part where the heater controls sit and the vents
Center arm rest
Hi-Lo suspension kit
New KYB Gas dampers
Makes the running total upto £2381.17p

Brought home the wiper motor and linkage which had previously stopped working and the old dashboard.
Took the wiper motor to bits, everything seemed fine with that, was all still lubed up nice (hehehehehe) and everything moved freely, so moved onto the cable mechanism itself, again, the cable was fine, still loads of grease on it. Took the end wheel box off, that moved quite freely but was catching ever so slightly on something, but still would work fine if re-greased. Went to remove the other wheelbox which should have just slid all the way off the cable, but it was ceased solid. So, i need to get it clamped in a vice, and try and free up the spindle where the wiper arm attatches.
Also, it looks like a tiny elecrtomagnet is missing from one of the contacts that go from the wiper park switch to the motor itself, i'll have to see if i can find one.
So, to add another thing to the ever growing list, i need 2 x wiper wheel boxes, (might aswell replace both) 1 x park switch and a replacement section of loom with the plug that goes into the park switch as it didn't want to unplug.
Or, just get a brand new motor, and linkage.
Anyway, moving on, i've been on the lookout for a new dash for the car because i've gone for a black theme inside. So tonight, i got the big roll of vinyl out that i bought and set about trimming the dash in it.
Still need to trim the glovebox lid down a bit because it's already a tight fit without it being trimmed, and once the radio goes in, it should be alright.
I'll use it as a temporary thing until i get a proper Rover walnut dash and have it profesionally trimmed in black leather.
A quick before & After
Before.
After.
Alot more subtle and looks way better IMO

The dash was i think one of the first ones from Dash Of Colour, it was an 18th birthday present in 2002 from the 'rents. It's been quite good, survived quite well. Only thing that i had to do was find some way of wedging it in at the bottom as sometimes it used to drop slightly. Other than that, it's been fine
I think it's better quality than some of the rubbish that's crept up on ebay recently. I think the guy said they get 17 coats of paint or something.

More bits arrived today!
I eventually got the later model heater unit, just need to make a tiny alteration to the wiring plug on it but that's nothing major..Included was all the plastic hoses, screen demister vents and the pipes for that connect inside the engine bay.
Heater fan speed is now doubled from 1 to 2 8)
Pair of flat blade wiper that might need a slight bit of modification to fit as the wipers that were on as standard have 11" blades, smallest i could get was 15" but i'll see
New Wiper motor arrived today aswell complete with the linkage and the plastic motor cover that always goes missing
Set of black leather door pockets. Never been a fan of the C**p plastic door pockets the car has as standard, alwas end up mishaped and stuff falls out, so, managed to get a set of leather ones - Cheers Udo.
Pow - New mirror glass after i accidentally cracked the other one
That's about it for now!
Coments welcome.
